I avoid going to the tournament unless it is Wed or Thursday with free tickets. This tournament just keeps getting bigger and this will be a record crowd with the weather ahead. Already had the first streaker. Not the greatest course in AZ but expect the bombers paradise to produce whoever drives long and straight for the week to win it.

Yeah I have heard the Course is good, but not the greatest thing you will ever play. Growing up in the TW Video Game generation...I do want to play the course just because I did so much virtually as a kid lol. Looks like it has some fun holes. Always a fun tournament to watch on tv.

Not from me. Ugh. Not a fan at all.

It's not at all special. It's boring. The holes blend together. The best one is probably 18, with… three being second? And after that, meh.

Ok gotcha. I agree it’s not a architectural masterpiece.

It is one the best "Stadium Courses" and was designed for spectator viewing.
Years ago, one could watch multiple groups from many locations around the course.
Nowadays with all the Luxury Seating being erected for the event, the views have been obstructed.

AS for golf, I agree it's not anything special to play.

Back to the event, I'm a fan of Keegan and glad to see him playing better than past years.
He has played well in the events this year and hope he has a good season, as the past several years he has struggled.

True.

As for Keegan...he did fall off the wagon a bit there after his 2011-2012 success. I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like him get another win under his belt.

While my personal impression of the course is not a harsh as Erik's. I will say it is in no way worth what they charge. The fact they charge what they do, IMHO, demands a more memorable layout. If it was $50-$75 a round I would give it higher marks.

15 and 17 (and 18) make for good tv and drama coming down the stretch.

The course has a pretty good champion list. It is pretty bland but is perfect for what it is designed for. The last 4 holes are pretty damn good along with 13. The front nine I don't care for really.

So no, woman who speaks, I don't think that was a good break for Rahm.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
