electric push carts

I'm looking for a cheap electric push cart.  Does anyone know much about these?  Have any good recommendations.  The cheapest one that won't fall apart and can make it up and down steep hills is what I'm looking for.  Any information is appreciated, thanks.

I don't know much about purchasing an electric push cart, just more horror stories than anything else about using them.  Don't let it get too far away from you and stay away from water  If what you have left to find is a standard push cart, go Clicgear or Sun Mountain.

Why do you need an electric cart if you don't mind me asking? Regular push carts need little effort to get around the golf course.

Why I ask is I know several people from the course that bought them and they have been somewhat of a nightmare for all of them. Batteries go south pretty quickly and are expensive to replace, they are heavy and cumbersome to get in and out of the car, and depending on the type they don't always steer correctly and we have had more than a few crash into lakes at the course where I work. None of the 3 guys I know that had them still use them.

I hardly even see them at all anymore as the pushcarts by ClickGear and Sun Mountain are really nice, light, and easy to fold up and put in your trunk. Just my $0.02

My wife has a Cart-Tek, I'm not sure which model.  We have a very hilly course, and the motorized trolley makes it a pretty easy walk for her.  You absolutely need to be careful with the remote control, guide it by hand in the narrowest or steepest areas, but it can make walking much more pleasant.  She did have a BatCaddy before, and had lots of mechanical issues.

I have both a ClicGear, and battery operated trolley, which brand name escapes me at the moment. 

The only time I use the electric one is on hilly courses. Maybe 10% of my rounds. Cost me $280.00. Works like a charm. Battery is usually good for 36 holes, when completely charged up. Batteries in the controller last 2-5 months. I am still healthy enough to get it in, and out of my vehicle with no problem. I have, in the past, helped others load their powered by cart. . 

Glad I own one. Would I purchase another one? Probably not. Except for the hilly courses, my human powered trolley works just fine. 

My best answer is, if you are healthy enough to push a trolley, don't purchase an electric one. It's a novelty that is a waste of money.

I am roughly 150 miles from home, finishing up a road trip. When I get home I will look it up. 

Another thought. I believe some company sells an add on device, they say can turn any trolley into a electric cart. Might try googling that if you are interested.

Looks pretty good. Looking forward to the reviews. As I get older, pushing the cart up steep hills starts to wear on me.

Can you ball park us the price iacus? When the offer is $200 off I'm thinkin' it won't be cheap.

No remote seems like the solution. It's so nice when you catch the perfect downslope and your push cart rolls along in front of you while you walk. Could be pretty cool so I'm looking forward to your review.

My wife has one (I can't remember which one), she doesn't use it that often, but she paid close to $1,600 for it.  It's one of the ones that follows behind you.  The thing weighs about 30 pounds without the battery in it and it is a pain as far as I'm concerned.  

It has a mind of it's own at times, it wondered off into a sand trap.  She likes it, but not enough to use it every time.
