“Some help” With Norman? No it was more than that. Norman could’ve shot even par and won. That’s not asking for anything amazing. Norman shot a 78. I agree a 67 was (is) a great Sunday round...but when you’re down 6 strokes...something miraculous has to happen....and it certainly did.

I see what you mean. Just when I think of 1996, I see Norman falling apart, but I also see Faldo still applying the pressure and having pressure on him on the back 9 as he caught Norman by the 11th hole. Faldo backed more into the 1987 British when Azinger threw the Claret Jug away on 17.  Faldo didn't really do anything exciting except par every hole and watch Azinger break down while he was in the clubhouse.

Going to be fun today. I don't usually enjoy two-way final round duels if that's what it comes down to, but these two are so intense and it has that Ryder Cup feel to it; it has potential to be really exciting to watch.

Tiger looks like he wants to be anywhere else than in a Sunday at the Masters without any chance of winning and having to wait for the group ahead to clear out before hitting shots.

Phil found something again today, birdie on 2, 3 and 4.

Great drive on one, great approach shot (!!! shocker!!!), then whiffs on the relatively easy putt. Looked like a miss the instant it came off the blade.

Poor drive on 2. Chance to get up and down for birdie though after a good hook recovery.

Cool shot of Tiger's 2nd shot on 2 there. A banana out of the pines.

I thought Reed was the perfect villain for this masters storyline.

Has he changed recently? Why are people actively rooting for reed?

Not me.  I can't get past the stories of his cheating college career.  I doubt that he will ever be someone I'd root for.

Was that ever verified or was it just rumors and hearsay?

I was accused - because I beat some kids my second year playing when they'd been playing for a decade - of having 15 clubs in the bag… despite the fact that my bag had a solid top with 14 full-length tubes in it… So I know sometimes people will make up some claims that aren't necessarily accurate.

I don't blame him for the "top 5 in the world" comment. It was accurate at the time, and how he felt.

I've said it before, but Tiger hits better shots when he has to hit some weird and shapey shot than a straight one from the fairway without any obstacles.

Never verified to my knowledge, but seems to be too much detail and too many of the ex-Georgia players siding with the College not to have some truth there. I know that's shaky, but I doubt it will ever be 100% verified.

I've only read around the edges: http://tobaccoroadblues.com/2015/01/30/the-villain-patrick-reed/ and haven't read the entire book.

Back to this year's Masters - massively pulling for Rory this afternoon and hoping to see him go out with the mentality he had yesterday. He looks so much more relaxed than he ever has round Augusta and you've got to think Reed will feel the pressure at some point. Patrick has played flawless golf though; I wouldn't begrudge him the title.

Same thing on some of the short game shots he's hit over the years, too. His brain engages more. Almost like he just gets a little careless during the more routine shots.

I don't think even the routine shots bored him back pre-2008. I think he focused pretty well on every shot.

You don't get kicked out of college for some drinking infractions that you have never really explained.

I'm rooting for Reed today.

I'm aware of the past, I just don't care what he did in college.

PReed FTW.

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
