Kevin Na grabbed the solo lead at -8 on his last hole (9th) when he holed out an awesome 30 yard chip shot. Scoring is pretty low, -2 is tied 30th after day 1.

Rosie has sort of grown on me as the years roll along.  Aggravating during the Ryder Cup, but I can't hold that against him. ;-)  I have a hunch that Speith might finally shake the putting funk this weekend and make a run at the leaderboard.  Anytime Stricker is in the hunt, I'm rooting for him.

….well, upon further review, looks like the funk is still on for Jordan.

Yeah, i've always liked Rose. He has a great story of perseverance and he was very polite & nice to me when i saw him at the Byron Nelson tournament several years ago.

Yeah I followed Rose and Stenson at the API last year I think...Several tees I was able to be real close and he interacted with the crowd very nicely. Seemed like a dude to have a beer with.

Man what is going on with Smylie Kaufman? I know he wasn’t in the limelight before but he made some small noise..is in the ‘spring break’ club....but now has just lost it. He’s not just missing cuts. He’s blowing it up all over shooting in the 80’s...finishing DFL....what’s going on?

Great to see Rose topping the leaderboard, hopefully he can stay there. With Rose topping the Fort Worth & McIlroy leading the BMW, it's set up for an good weekend.

A good number of guys within reach if they go low. But looks like they’ll need to. Rose probably won’t back up.

62-65 has been out there this week though.

Golf comes on early in the AM here in Japan, but I have tomorrow off. Will be watching!

Pulling for Rose, Kodaira, and of course my favorite Louis O!

My wife and I were switching back and forth between the between the golf tournament and the Prefontaine Classic (track meet). The rule was, watch the golf until Jim Nantz starts talking, then switch to the track meet.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
