I'm taking it, maybe wrong, that @nevets88 was joking with the negative height ... note the emoji?

I get that he was joking, but I'm not sure what it had to do with puns. Also, Shakespeare used puns... a lot.

Anyways, back to topic:

I can totally see that a driver going out 250 yards would look like it's not going as high as a wedge. The trees in the distance do not look that tall compared to trees right near you, even though they might be the same height.

I agree with this. It's a perception thing and it has to do with angles. A 45° launch to 90' looks higher than a 16° launch to 90' because we have to look up at the first shot.

What is the consensus on judging low trajectory shots? If they're lower to the ground, do people judge the height better?

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

I'm gonna say yes. More objects around to use as reference points and all that. When I hit my stock shot, I don't know how high it goes but I "know" how high I hit it based on prior LM data if you know what I mean.

Most of my iron shots are near the same height consistently.

For the most part, I can tell by feel if the shot is off. Mostly height issues for me come with the wedge shots. I try not to hit full wedge shots anymore because I have a tendency to flip slightly and the ball goes high and short. Keeping everything inside 130 yards to 3/4 or less type shots helps out with control for me.
