I can't believe there isn't a topic already created talking about one of the best sporting events on TV, NCAA March Madness.   Since retirement I haven't wagered any $$ on the tournament but I still fill out my bracket, hoping to beat the average participant.

Gardner-Webb gave #1 Virginia more than it wanted taking the lead into half time before eventually falling 71-56.

UC Irvine beat #4 Kansas State in the South.    Villanova had trouble with St. Mary's.   Iowa upset Cincinnati, and one of the best was Tennessee over Colgate in a very close game.

Michigan State had trouble with Bradley, I thought Izzo was going to blow an artery with his finger wagging.    Marquette exited early.

The Big 10 is being represent well with the first six games won.

I have Duke, Gonzaga, North Carolina and Tennessee in the final 4 with Duke the eventual winner.

Duke gonna be hard to beat with Zion. Too bad. I like him but Duke has been my most despised team for as long as I can remember. That horrible rat faced coach is just a mess. But yeah...such a great sporting event with so many games getting down to the wire.

I picked 15 out of the Sweet 16.  Pretty fly.

My Final Four are LSU, Michigan, Purdue and North Carolina, and I have my Tar Heels winning it all.

Duke was lucky to survive the last game against UCF.   UCF had two chances at the end and the ball rolled off of the rim.

I have 14 of the 16 still in my bracket.    I thought that Wisconsin would meet Virginia instead of losing to Oregon and Kansas would beat Auburn.

Duke over VT

MSU over LSU

Virginia over Oregon

Tennessee over Purdue

Gonzaga over FSU

Michigan over Texas Tech

North Carolina over Auburn

Kentucky over Houston

that being said, Oregon and Houston could surprise people.

I don't really follow basketball at any level, but I did fill out a brackets somewhere.  I don't think I'm alone, which is part of why this tournament is so big.  Anyway, I know I got at least one game correctly predicted, because the team I had winning it all in my bracket (based on exactly zero good reasons to predict them) lost in the second round.

Well there was an upset in the bracket that I'm sure will hit most.  Auburn beat North Carolina.  I don't think too many people saw that happening.

I still have 6 of the elite 8 but I'm not too confident of my final pick of Duke.   They beat Virginia Tech by 2.   I'm not sure they will get past Michigan State.   Gonzaga looks good.

Older daughter did undergrad at Virginia and Masters at Texas Tech (and still lives in Lubbock). She is VERY excited about tomorrow's game.

Yeah quite a final, TT vs UVA. Whoduh thought? Both games last night were as usual, exciting. Shame Auburn had to ruin that incredible comeback. Cut a 10 point deficit at the 5min to lead by 1 at the 2 minute mark. Auburn blundered. It was a clear foul on Guy on his 3 point shot. However the ref did blow an obvious DD just earlier by Guy as well. But Auburn shouldn’t have done the intentional foul when they had the 2pt lead with 1.6sec left. But there it is.

Tennessee over Purdue

I wish we had pulled it out.  It's been weird seeing us as a "basketball school" since our football program has gone downhill since the departure of Phillip Fulmer.  We've had some good players come through and we thought we had a shot that year we had Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd, Barnett, and crew.  That was a pretty decent team outside of our cornerbacks who could never defend.  Hope we can continue to get better as a program both in basketball and football.

Well I didn't see that coming.   UVA vs TT.   I didn't think UVA was very good, they surprised me.

Texas Tech on the other hand...Their defense is just amazing.   Looking at their bracket they won convincingly against some very good teams, Michigan, Gonzaga, Michigan State.   I would have never guessed that.   They are good enough and I believe they will win Monday night.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
