It's the age where we all hike our belts up to our neck, get our AARP card, and complain about being too cold in a 78 degree room.

At least it's different and doesn't force him to either give a pat, cliche'd answer or risk social media rage for speaking his mind and expressing himself poorly. How about, "If you were trapped in a Lord of the Flies situation with 12 of your fellow players, who would you choose and who would be Piggy?"

This question comes up every year. People simply don't realize that the Masters is different from regular PGA Tour events.

Define "seriously"? In other words, what's a "serious" golf goal vs. a "just enjoy it" goal?

"it's the last... day to practice. And the last... night to sleep soundly." Whatever. While I like watching the tournament and I understand what it means to win it, this is all getting a bit too much for me.

Yep. I think they look stupid.

This last hole has gotten ugly but otherwise it was pretty good. Having no other way to choose between one or the other, I had to root for Kupcho because I hate Fassi's sunglasses on anyone.

how many tees do you use!?

water bottle, even playing in 40 degrees. If it's ungodly hot, I'll carry a couple packets of electrolyte powder and mix it with the water if I'm playing 18, I'll usually have some kind of nut bar/ball thing. I don't remember the brand but it really helps with hunger/energy.

he told the truth instead. That bastard.

Villain is a strong word but I definitely don't like Bryson. In addition to what others have said, I hate watching his swing... when he finally gets around to swinging the club. I guess he's kind of a villain, though, if he's in contention on the weekends I won't watch the tournament.

Always Play the Same Ball vs. Play Many Brands
krupa replied to bkuehn1952's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Anything that's round. I'll usually start a round with one or two nice, unused balls and as soon as I lose them, change to whatever old balls I have in my bag. -
I think RG's apology is probably one of the most sincere I've ever read from a public figure. Anyone who has ever tried to overcome an addiction will know how shitty it feels to relapse. I feel bad for the guy and hope he's able to regroup and come out of this stronger. My experience with pot and pot smokers has been about the same as drinkers. I've known complete burn-outs who are pretty much useless as people and very successful people who's pot use amounts to the equivalent of a couple beers after work. I'd vote to legalize it in NY simply because the "war on drugs" is a futile exercise in spending money, but I've tried it and prefer to remain clear headed.

Trash bag. So he's either a really really bad father or just a stupid cyclist towing his crap around.

I just saw the story and this is -- word for word -- almost exactly what I was going to say. -
Rochester New York golf Outing Summer 2018?
krupa replied to RFKFREAK's topic in Member Outings & Meetups
1. We have an Upstate NY group. 2. What's the point of a sub-forrum called "Member Outings and Meetups" if not to discuss meeting up and having an outing? @RFKFREAK my summer has been really chaotic (in a good way, but still very crazy) and I don't think I can do a golf trip to Rochester this month. I need to recover from my June and July. -
Mine is obviously a joke. I don't maintain a handicap and can't even if I want to. I play probably 98% of my rounds alone and would never get in enough official rounds get an HI calculated. My Game Golf HI is currently 35. I don't know how GG calculates it but if I don't follow the rules to the best of my knowledge/ability, I don't include the round in my stats.

Is It Legal For DeChambeau To Use Compass/Protractor?
krupa replied to Vinsk's topic in Rules of Golf
I still don't completely understand what he's actually measuring. Before the round he gets a sheet that shows hole positions and he has a book with the contours of the green. So when he gets to the green he can see that the hole on the sheet isn't exactly where it is on the green? And then he's using a compass (I almost said protractor) to figure out on his book where the hole really is? 1. I either didn't learn or have forgotten how to use a compass. How is he doing this? 2. Can he possibly be accurate enough to matter? The photos that I've seen show him with his putter in the crook of his arm while holding a floppy book in one hand and a protractor ... dammit... compass in the other. (I love how Ads by Amazon is now offering me a 16-pack of plastic protractors when I few this page.) -
Is It Legal For DeChambeau To Use Compass/Protractor?
krupa replied to Vinsk's topic in Rules of Golf
I thought I had read that it was going to be allowed but I guess I was reading someone's opinion and not the official ruling. I'm not terribly surprised at the ruling; I don't see a lot of difference between using the compass to figure out the "true pin location" on the green and using a range finder to find the "true location" of the pin from where the player is standing. -
They definitely need a pace-of-play rule in baseball. A few years back there is/was a pitcher for (I think) the Cubs who was taking almost a minute per pitch. Granted, it was during the playoffs but he'd take forever even when the bases were empty. I love baseball and one of the reasons is that there isn't a clock. And while I am one of the most patient people you will ever, that game was completely unwatchable.
