Erik,

Have you run in the True Sensei?  I have been looking for lower profile shoes to workout in.  Can't run anymore but do elliptical, etc.  Also, is the coupon still available?

Coupon's still available in the private forum yes.

I think the sizing is almost exactly the same as the Tours (from 2011 or 2012). I wear a 10.5 in Tours and Stealths and a 10 in the PHX model (which seems a tad bigger). I have a pair of the Sensei in 10.5 and they fit great. The toe box IS a bit smaller but you don't want a bunch of room in a running shoe because if you have fabric there, movement = rubbing = blisters at a MUCH higher frequency than when walking.

I've run a few miles in my Sensei and so far it's great. I have 4mm heel drop shoes for my other running - Brooks PureConnect and PureFlow and the Saucony Kinvara 2 - and these shoes feel great. They're surprisingly lightweight as well, which is great, but still provide more cushioning than you'll be used to from the Tours or Stealths. The neck is the super comfortable with the memory foam and if the shoes weren't white like they are, I'd consider wearing them for ALL of my running.

Except for the lack of a rock plate, they might even make for pretty good trail running shoes because the grip on them is outstanding. Might have to pick up a pair of the black ones for that. Oh and I was surprised at how well my feet could breathe while still staying pretty warm (I run with Injinji toe socks and it's been 30° or so a few times when I've run lately).

I have some pictures of mine but they look just like the promo shots, so they won't really show anything. I plan to add a product review later.

I've worn my TRUE shoes 95% of the time I have shoes on for the past two years (no kidding) and these shoes are an awesome addition. They're not only more "sneaker-like" but they go a bit better with jeans than the Tours or Stealths. The PHX are second in that "wear around town" feel at this point - a bit higher end looking (no mesh, more leather).

Beach,

I had emailed TRUE right before the release of the sensei to ask about sizing because I have both the tours and stealths (both 2011 models) in 10.5 and they fit perfect, but I've tried on the phx in the store and 10 fits me better in those.

This was their response to me.

Hi Tristan,

Thank you for your email and interest! We are stoked for the launch of the TRUE sensei and are excited to hear your feedback. With respect to sizing, the TRUE sensei do run more similar with the rest of our 2012 line (which runs a half size bigger than the 2011 line), so we would suggest a size 10. If you find that they don't provide quite enough room, you can always utilize the free exchange, but from our experience, they run more similar to the phx in sizing.

Please let us know if you have any other questions Tristan and we hope you dig the new TRUE sensei!

Kind regards,

Marie

So far I've found that to be right on. The 10s fit really well, maybe a tiny bit smaller than the 10.5 tours and stealths I already have but not by much.

Just bought myself two pairs of True Linkswear shoes. Both are phx, one is black, the other is a mahogany (not really a brown). They were $20 off, and an additional 20% off. So two pair for $55 dollars!!!!

I love that they are a bit wider, so I can go with my standard size 10, instead of going up to a 10.5. They fit great, and they are comfy. I was shocked in the feel of the zero drop shoe. My heel was slamming down the first few times I took steps with them. Who knew millimeters could make that big of a difference in walking.

Very few times do I find a shoe that feels like this one. I will be wearing these everywhere.

Not trying to beat a dead horse or anything. But I haven't seen anything really about the vibrams that are out now that they say are for just playing golf. Anyone have any experience with these shoes? I love my vibrams for doing any sort of outdoor activities and waterproofing is not a big deal to me. I'd get my bare feet wet anyway. I hate wearing shoes and I grew up not wearing shoes most of the time anyway.

Can anyone tell me how these will size in comparison to a footjoy or nike?  I'm in need of a new pair of shoes, I do a lot of walking, and these are pretty inexpensive.  Plus you all think they're really cool and I really want to be part of the cool-kid club.

Slightly wider due to the fact the toe area is flared out more. I would say they fit normal in the heel, and wide in the toes. Personally I like that because I wear around a 2E, wide shoe.

I have a couple questions about the True linkswear shoes. First, I tried on a pair of Lyt Dry shoes, and the feeling of being on my heels was odd. Does it take long to get used to that feeling? Second, is it hard to switch between Trues and other golf shoes?

No kidding!  I felt that way as well when I tried on my first pair.  I was pretty much like "WTF?!?!" :-P But to answer your question ... no.  It just feels like you are wearing really comfortable slippers.

Second, is it hard to switch between Trues and other golf shoes?

I haven't worn any other shoes since I got my Trues, so I don't know about this.  I could imagine it might be a little weird, but I just have no idea.

Yes it will feel weird for a little bit, but you get use to it. You might have some discomfort for a short term because you are stretching your Achilles more than you use to, and you are using more muscles in your feet because you are relying on their support, not the shoes support.

It's much harder to switch back once you've tried them. For me it was no problem and I bought them on the way to the course and walked 18 right away. I wear the Protos which are waterproof and should be cheaper than the lyt dri if you don't mind last season's shoe; they were a good value at 100$.

As far as feeling I'm on my heel, I think my weight is slightly more on my toes now because I have so much more mobility and less fatigue that way. My other shoes have always restricted or made that movement uncomfortable. Walking 18 used to be pretty tiring, now I feel I could play golf the entire day and my hands and forearms would be the only thing aching.

Just got my true tours today. Ordered a size 10 which is what I wear in both nike and footjoy, but the trues feel a little swimmy in a 10. I just ordered another pair in 9.5; I'll return one of them once I can try them on side by side. I will say that they feel so soft that I feel as though they'll slip right off walking up a hill if they're at all loose. Also wondering weather the memory foam wears down after a few weeks--it feels like it would. Regardless I'm excited to start walking the course in these!

They do run a little wide, especially in the toe area.

I love the True shoes..

My first pair was the PHX which I sort of retired due to them splitting open at the "hinge" points. No problem with the shoe they just had roughly 800+/- miles of walking on them. I still have them as a back up pair.

This season I'm sporting a pair of True Tours.

I really like the feeling of the feet being somewhat flat on the ground. This also helps because when the course is really wet, like it is now with the roughly three inches of rain we're getting now, I'll wear a pair of those slip on beach shoes so I won't ruin a good pair of golf shoes.

I do that too. I wore out one of the front toe nubs on every pair I own. I try not to though, I want to save the sole for golf! But so comfy.
