My wife will probably hate me, but I think I finally convinced myself to upgrade my ball. I was playing a Pro-V1 last Friday afternoon and was surprised that I was not loosing distance off the tee. The "sale" happened on the last hole when I hit an aggressive pitch (about 30 yds) and puckered when it landed close to the hole thinking that it was going to bound to the back of the green like usual. It took a hop and then stopped like Velcro. What have I been doing all this time.

I did make the putt too.

Yes I've recently made the definate change a couple weeks ago.

I was at the practice green pulled about 5 balls out of my bag and hit the same shot with each ball by far the ProV1 had the best stopping. Even better than my NikeOne, which I have played with for quite some time.

I love the fact that I get them for free. I have over two dozen still saved up from the beginning of the season, it's great!...

I've tried the Callaway Tour I, and Tour ix, Bridgestone B330-S, Nike ONE, and Prov1 and Prov1x. They are all nice. But only one stood out: ProV1x. I got the distance off the tee I was looking for, but awesome greenside playability. I didn't have to sacrifice one over the other like I did with the other golf balls.

LOL.

Never. But no, really I got them for free through my golf team. I played in every match (20 matches) and we get one sleeve (3 balls) of prov1's or prov1x's (our choice) per match. One match = 9 holes. I never really hit the ball O.B. or in a hazard or lost them, so I would just never play them. Now I have around 10 sleeves of Prov1x's sitting in my bedroom on my dresser... I'll be a Senior next year, so that will be my last year to stock up. That's probably the main thing I'll miss from High School golf, are the free Prov1 and Prov1x's.

There is no comparison. Look on TGW and get the practice for like 26-30 bucks. No difference.

The practice balls are rejects and might not conform to the rules of golf. The are definitely not on the conforming balls list.

I just picked up some Srixon Z-Star to try. I had found one and played it a little bit and really liked it. I normally play Pro V-1 or NXT Tour depending on course conditions.

Yeah, it's been discussed here a few times. I think the practice balls don't conform, but XXX-outs do (cosmetic defects only).

Might be the opposite, but I think that's the way it is.

According to the Titleist site you are incorrect. Essentially the PRACTICE is like a logo ball...

What a good deal. That'll teach you to hit it straight.

I think we got one sleeve of balls for the League Championships and another sleeve if you made it to Districts or States.

im a 22 hi with a 10HI short game(if that makes any sense) and I played a prov1 I found in a hazard. I played this ball for like 3 rounds until i hit it out of play and yes it has awesome stopping power.

when chipping onto a downhill green with limited space, there is no other ball I would rather be playing. Distance seemed fine for me.

just have to get better before i start buying them.

It is really strange....

I was playing a practice 9-holes yesterday with 3 parallel balls (course was empty ). A Wilson PX3, a TM Burner TP and a rogue ProV1 that I found in the woods.

I had to replace the Wilson and TM twice each (Messing with Tee-shots). The ProV1 hit all the fairways, and if I had 3 balls on the green, it was always the ProV1 that dropped.

Makes me wonder....

That is not true. They are 100% conforming. The only difference is the paint isn't perfect. They are legal for any play.
