Hole 12 at Hazeltine looks like it's gonna play the toughest. I don't even have a clue what it looks like but just for fun. If you had to play a 518 yd par 4 a hundred times what % GIR do you think you'd get?

BTW.. I can't type of spell so forgive my grammar/spelling in poll options :D

If I'm hitting my driver well and find the fairway I'd say pretty high because my 3 wood and hybrid are 2 of my more consistent clubs. If driving it poorly pretty low.

I couldn't get there in two. I hit the ball 250-260 off the tee with a good drive, and then 215-220 with my 3 wood with a good shot.

0% - no way i could be there in two
assuming perfect conditions, zero wind etc..

driver and 4i into it and im still 30 yds out

if i nut a drive, maybe, but still unlikely and im sure i would average 5 or 6 on it over 4 days

eh just a driver and sange wedge for me. Sign me up!

j/k probably two lucky shots, I think Hazeltine is redicuoulsy long.

How about the 248yd Par 3, like come on, I would need a driver for that!

Driving it good: 65%

65%...um, no. Lets say you average 280 off the tee (which I'm sure is a gross over-estimation). That leaves 238 to green….you are telling us that you will hit the green 65% of the time from 230+. Hell no… Pros average about 65% GIR playing championship length holes, but a championship length hole is typically not a 518 yard par 4. I smell a little bull

I picked 11-30%.

#17 here where I play is 517 par 5 I can reach in 2 about every 3rd round. It's a dogleg right and it takes a good 240 to reach the corner, so with a good drive past the corner and then a perfect 3w I'm home in 2. Only made the eagle put once this year tho........
I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

Using my current clubs: 0% Even with best drive and 3 wood, I'd 20-30 yards short.

Now if I had The Hammer, I could make it there in one. POWWWWW!!!!

Only if I catch the cartpath on the drive and a sprinklerhead on the approach.....

That's why I play 6700 yd golf courses, not 7700 yd courses and don't have my name on my bag!

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

0% without a doubt.

I'm not long at all, at 53 my "good" drives go about 235-245 (with the wind and down hill 238-248). The longest par 5 on my "regular course" is 515 and the shortest is 492 and I cannot reach any of those in two (white tees).

518 par 4 realistically "might" be a 5 on my card, but probably more times a 6. I like the guy's comment, "Not even if Tiger drove for me!!"

I depends on the course conditons. If its firm enough to were can get my drive out there around 300, then i could easily hit a hybrid or maybe even a 4 iron into the green. A course i play has a 510 yard par 5, and im around the green in two on that hole nearly all of the time.

I give myself a 1 in 3 (33%) chance, I average around 270 off the tee and my 'go' distance for my 3-wood is 240yds. Yes, I know that adds up to 510 (not 518yds), but I do bust some drives in the 290-300 yd range and I have hit my 3-wood over 240. If the course is dried out (like at Hazeltine) and getting some roll, then there's a pretty good chance. I played a course 2 weeks ago that was pretty dried out. 550yd par 5 18th hole, I hit a 290yd drive and had 260 to the green. Busted a good 3-wood and ended up 3 yds short of the green (and made birdie )

I voted 11-30% when I hit the fairway. My home course has a 501 yard par 4 that plays into the prevailing wind. I've been able to hit it a few times, never made the putt though. One day I'll birdie that damn hole.

    • Back in my Army days a "gooch" was a particular part of the anatomy. Example, say Okeechobee is the b-hole of Florida, then Belle Glade would be the gooch. Seems he wears his name well.
    • I can't say that I remember a lot of individual putts, but I do have one specific memory.  The first time I played the Old Course, I had hit a pretty good drive on the 6th hole.  I had about 60 yards left, and due to the swale in front of the green, there was no chance of flying a wedge on or near the green and having it stop on the green.  My caddie recommended either a running 7-iron chip or a putt, and I took the putter and a pretty hard swing.  The ball rolled over humps and through hollows, disappeared into the swale in front of the green, and re-appeared heading right at the hole.  I ended up maybe 12 feet away.  The caddie turned and held out his hand to shake mine, and said "Now THAT was a golf shot!"
    • For the first time since 2021, I made a 3 on the 12th at Stoneleigh.    395 yards, something like 80 feet uphill, I hit a solid drive and a 7-wood to inside a foot.  Even I couldn't miss that one.  I feel like I haven't played a lot of golf this year, but I'm making decent progress.
