I have a 3 wood, 3 hybrid, and 4 iron that work for me at long distances. My short game consists of a vokey 56, and honestly I am very good with it in any lie. My next wedge up is an i20 50 degree UW. I seriously can't justify another club. Suggestions??

60° wedge can be handy.

I like it for short game shots (the nicelly lofted and full of spin ones), or deap bunkers, or short sand explosions, or that wedge shot you cant afford to be long of 80yards with, or that lofted 50 yard shot too partial with a 56°.

I too have the drive, 3 woods, 3 hybride then 4 iron.

sometimes swap the 60° with a 3 iron depending on the course.

I am with bubble, def get you a 60.  I us my SW for a lot of things, but I was surprised how often the 60 comes in handy.  I love it know from about 40-50 yards. chocked down 3/4 swing and the distance is always just right.   Also works great if you ever need to hit a flop shot.

For a while I couldn't find a 14th club I wanted either. I ended up carrying a left-handed club (my other 13 were right handed). I think I called it a "tree wedge" or something clever like that, when it was really a 6-iron. I think I used it once on the course and maybe a half dozen times at a range.

How's your distance gap between U and 56*?  Maybe drop the 56* for a 54* and a 58*?

I wish I had your problem, I have to decide which club I need to remove before a tournament. And I usually don't know till I get to the range day of, 4 iron or my 23 degree hybrid....I think the 4 iron will be coming out for good this season just because I hit it off the box so well, but if I were u I would add a 60

the "tree wedge" is very clever, i never thought of that one.  i hit my UW about 110y and the 56 about 85y, so there is some gap.  however i rarely leave myself with that awkward yardage to a hole, so the gap doesn't usually pose an issue.

i originally thought about bending the 56 to 55 and then getting a 60, but truth is i am so comfortable with the 56 i feel that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality about bending it.  and for that matter i feel the same about adding a 60 if i can do 95% of my chipping with the 56.  maybe introducing a new wedge will confuse me and actually deteriorate my game.  i don't know.

Another wedge does carry the possibility of paralysis by analysis. If you think you can handle it, though, a 51 or 52 degree in the same style as your 56 might be able to get you 95-100 yards and cover that gap that you aren't worried about. I definitely don't suggest bending the 56 to 55. It works fine now, don't mess with it.

Get a 60*.  Its a handy little club for have in the bag for delicate greenside shots where you arent able to get enough spin to stop the ball with a 56* because you can use trajectory to stop the ball instead of spin.

That or maybe a chipper.  Im personally not a big fan of chippers because I feel that they are a crutch but they are a neat little club to have if you struggle with chipping because they eliminate a lot of mistakes that can happen is chipping.

Maybe the next step in the rules of golf. By making the game ever and ever easier, the equipment could be restricted. What about a 12 clubs bag? Back in times players did not had 60s or "gap" wedges. Not talking about big headed drivers , it could be a way to render the game a way to defend himself...

Never thought of it like that.  That is a good idea.  It would make players decide what clubs they needed for that round depending on length, conditions, or whatever else they may encounter during a round of golf.  I know that I would be pissed if I left out a club and then ended up needing it for a few shots during a round.  It def would add to the mental side of golf (like there isn't enough already).
