Do you use your set PW?

I personally use my Nike VR PW that came with the set, I don't see any reason in replacing it.  However, if playing a Vokey wedge is an upgarde over what you currently have then it may be beneficial.  I don't see enough benefits in replacing my PW though, but as I said, that's just me.

My irons have lofts way stronger than clubs used to have, so my 5-GW includes a 42.5 degree PW, 46 degree AW (my prior PW was 47 degrees), and a 49.5 degree GW.  I hit them all fairly consistently.  I also have 52 and 56 degree wedges from another vendor but I prefer taking a little off of the 49.5 to a full 52, which is out of my bag at this time.  

Holy Crow that is a strong PW. That may even be stronger than my 8 iron!

So basically a 2 - SW set but we added 1 to each # on the sole and then, when we got to the wedges, just said **** it and went to the bar.

I have my set (mizuno mx25) PW, yet have the same thought of trying a vocker 46 or 47° wedge.

 

I find that the PW is a club I use a lot on partial shots or punched short game pitches. The loft is really easy to hit with different intersities, I enven wonder why I keep my gap wedge.

 

yet my set PW doesnt have that great vockey touch, grooves nor stiff shaft and since it's a set wedge easy to hit it has a gap with my 52°.

I use my PW from the G15s. I picked up a stock U and SW from same set - put away my Vokeys (52, 56) and will try these for awhile.

I replaced my iron set PW with a 48* Vokey long ago. I hit it about 8 yards shorter (1* more loft on the Vokey but that doesnt account for 8 yards) but add in much more versatility on less than full shots.

Use my mp-32 PW, and have x-forged 52, 56, 60. Wish I could get a mp-32 gap wedge since i only ever use it for full swings, but love the x-forged sand and lob.

I use my set PW which is 47*, but it's function is that of another iron. Mostly use it for full swings and my 52* is used how some people use a PW. I deloft a lot of my clubs so when it comes to wedges they effectively play less loft than what the # on the sole states.

Now I'm confused, I thought an Approch and Gap wedge were one and the same? Your set has both.

 

Let's see...3.5 degrees will let you still fit all those clubs in there so that your 2-S, now comes as a 3-S with 2 more clubs. I realize they don't sell the 3 and 4s that much, but still this is amazing. I wonder why they go 3.5 and then have that giant 5.5 gap from the G to S? Can most ams that these are marketed for generate enough club head speed to warrant 3.5 gaps?   

 

Anyway, back to the topic. I weakened my pw from 47* to 48* and since it was a blade I didn't see the need for a Vokey. But now that I am thinking about it...hmmm. 

It's not my set, just put the data up to clarify some of the conversation. My PW is 10 years old and has 48* of loft. After that I have a TNT 52-08, a Nike SV Tour 56-14 and a Mizuno MP-T11 60-08.

I 100% agree with this sentiment.

I use the PW that came with my G25 set did not get a SW i carry a 50,54 and 58 ping tour wedges.

Love those wedges.
