How much did you spend on golf in 2013?

I hate to start this up again but I am looking at this years membership prices and contemplating joining after the changes....explain that later.

How much jack did you spend on golf paraphernalia and golf related activities this year... I am still calculating..... My guess is round $2000

$2,500 this year not including soft costs like transportation to/from, food, beverages, etc...  I am a public course player with a work schedule that allows me to play some mid-week plus I am a walker so my costs for the 110 rounds in 2013 is on the low side.  A great side benefit to my work is occasionally I get to be part of the annual company golf trip (paid for by the company).  2013 was Scotland.  Did I mention I played the Old Course?

I spent way to much, but i bought new clubs and all so about $3500 including rounds played

I revamped a good portion of my golf bag this year - new irons, new driver, new shoes, and a new bag. That alone ran me about 1500$. Then add on roughly 75 rounds I played this summer and I'm sitting at about 3500-4000. For reference, I play primarily public and semi-private courses in Minnesota.

Ugh.....

Rough guess.  120 rounds at about $40 per round average.  1.5 balls per round is about 15 dozen balls.  10 gloves.  One pair of shoes.  No big clubs, bags, or other big expenditures though....

......so not including food/drink or transportation (and we DON'T want to go there......!), let's call it somewhere in the $6k neighborhood.

No wonder golfnow loves you...

I would say around $1400, $40 a month membership, $500 for a buddies trip, $200 for 2 new pair of shoes, and a few miscellaneous items like golf balls and some shirts.

this is probably a pretty high number for me and its two fold

1 Because i love golf

2 Because i launched a big and tall golf apparel line (Aveo)

personally

yearly buddies golf trip $1500

approx 50 rounds of golf (including some membership golf) 1250

membership cost - 1600

balls approx 12 dozen i would assume - ~$500

new irons - $500

new bag - 175

(this is getting pathetic)

 $ just north of $5,500

Growing my Brand Aveo Big and Tall Golf - WOW - ALLOT i wont even out that out there - but it has been worth it so far - still have some growing to do but it has been good so far

A lot, I mean a lot!

And I'm with Aveo, I love to play golf.  And I don't have a boat, four-wheeler's, don't hunt or fish.  I play golf, as much as I can, so all my disposable income is on golf, and my lovely fiancee likes to play as much as me, so all our trips revolve around golf.

Joined new Country Club which cost a lot for an initiation fee and dues (at Old Country Club until September and then the rest of the year at new course).

Bought new Mizuno MP-4 Irons, new Titleist driver, new Titleist wedges, new bag.  $2200 putter is only thing not replaced, although I tried a Ghost Spider Putter and hated it.

Went to Palm Springs for a guys golf trip in January spent $1,200 for entire package.  Went to Southport NC at beginning of March for a long weekend spent about $250 on golf, went to Myrtle Beach at the end of March, spent about $300 for golf.  Spent $1000 to play just golf on a trip to Hawaii, with a three day stop in San Diego and a 2 day stop in Palm Springs in April (played 10 rounds over the 11 days).  Spent $750 on a trip to Pinehurst, including playing No. 2 (which was $300).  Played in the Baltimore Country Club member-Guest, spent $550 just on entry fee. Took November Trip to Florida, spent another $375 just on golf.

Add in golf balls, new shirts, shorts, etc., probably close to $10,000-12,000.  OUCH!

Too much that's for sure. The beer was nearly as much as the golf. I use GolfNow and my home course is cheap but still it gets expensive. In the summer I was playing nearly every day. I'd guess I spent $300 a week with the beer.

Thanks.  LOL

Yeah it was a crazy year for golf.  First lady I've been involved with who loved to play golf and when she couldn't play, didn't care if did. She won an incentive trip to Hawaii last April, we're going to Cancun this April, but last April we flew to San Diego as a layover to Hawaii.

Day 1 - Played Morgan Run Resort & Golf Club

Day 2 - Played Salt Creek Golf Course

Day 3 - Played Torrey Pines North and South (her suggestion to play 36 holes)

Day 4 - Played Plantation Course at Kapalua (on the day we landed in Maui, pick up car and drove to course)

Day 5 - Played Dunes at Maui Lani

Day 6 - Took A Break

Day 7 - Played Wailea Gold

Day 8 - Played Pukalani Country Club before catching our flight out in the late afternoon (her suggestion to play before we left)

Day 9 - Played Indian Wells Country Club and Desert Falls CC in Palm Springs (her suggestion to drive to Palm Springs to play)

Day 10 - Flew Home to Virginia

Better hold on to that one!

Geez Dave that is a lot of beer... Why didn't you get to play with Graeme?

I know a girl like this but she lives 2400 miles away from me...

I will take the fifth on the OP's question.   All I can say is that whatever I spent on golf, I had to multiply it by 2 to account for my wife's obsession with golf .
