I've been golfing a lot the last few months, at least 5 times a week, and I'm really getting some annoying callouses on my right hand, my glove hand is fine... I'm wondering if there is a downside to wearing a glove on both hands?

I have a few very small callouses on both hands. They don't bother me at all, but most here will say that if you getting them you are gripping the club too hard. There are a bunch of other threads on this so if you look them up you should get your answers.

I started using two gloves this year. I like it. Make sure they fit snug. I found a glove that works for me, Zero Friction. One size fits all. Conforms to your hand. I changed my grip this year too so it all felt awkward for me at first but feels good now. Taking both gloves off for when I chip and putt is the only downside for me. I started out the year with left and right handed clubs so I started using gloves on both hands. I recently went all left and went to the range with one glove. No thanks. Hit a few stingers with these old irons I got. Two gloves from now on for me.

I started using two gloves back in 1988 after my parents moved to Florida. First time I played down there, it was 90+ with humidity about the same. Felt like playing with both hands and clubs under water. These days, I will use two gloves, not because of calluses, but due to the weather. Cooler or cold days, and high humidity days in summer. Mostly it's a mind thing, since, if it's that sticky out, I will change the LEFT glove 2 or 3 times, but the right glove will make it through the whole round. Only take it off to putt (leave left hand glove on while putting), so maybe it gets a bit of a rest to last the day. I dont see any real drawbacks, at least in my game. Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey doesn't seem to think there is, either.

In the beginning of the season I use as many as 4 gloves, 2 per hand, at one time to avoid blisters. Eventually I work it down to just 1 glove total. The only downside I could see to the additional glove is the added cost.

Calluses are fine, but if you don't like them, there's nothing wrong with wearing two gloves. Costs more money but that's probably about it. Alternatively, you can use a pumice stone on your hands to soften the calluses.
most here will say that if you getting them you are gripping the club too hard.
I don't agree with that at all: [CONTENTEMBED=/t/54965/proper-grip-pressure-its-firmer-than-you-might-think layout=inline][/CONTENTEMBED] If anything, most people grip to softly which causes movement of the grip in the hands and creates blisters. Developing calluses on your hands is pretty common and should be expected, really.

I don't need to worry about calluses , but I do wear two gloves for protection from the sun. I even putt while wearing gloves. Where I play we get well over 300 days of sunshine every year. Wearing two gloves also comes in handy during the few colder days we have around here.

While on the subject of gloves, if you play in colder weather, having a pair of barbeque mittens comes in handy when moving between shots. The go on, and off quickly and they keep your gloved hands warmer .

I add a right-handed glove if I'm playing in marginally cold weather - which isn't often.

It's a bit of a hassle, especially keeping it dry if I wash off a golf ball.

I was getting serious blisters on both thumbs every time I went when I first started. It was so bad I was only able to go about once a week because of how raw it was. I wasn't wearing a right handed glove but I was still blistering through the glove on the left hand. Once it callused up a little bit I haven't had a problem since then. Guess the skin just had to get used to being used there and now it's fine and no issues when I play.

I've been wearing both gloves for various reasons: (uneven) sunburn, callus.    They don't seem to effect my swing.

If it helps, sure, put on that righty glove.  Not for me though.  It's a big enough pain in the ass removing one glove when I putt, let alone two.  (For me, softer putting touch without a glove.   Although I see some wear a glove to putt.)

Just some info on costs. A pair golf gloves are more expensive than a pair of batting gloves if you want to save some coin for pretty much the same results.

    • Why should SuperSpeed get 3x of Stack's profits? I get the part about SuperSpeed wanting damages sustained as a result of Stack, but I don't get why SuperSpeed feels that they're entitled to both Stack's profits and damages.   Does anyone know/think SuperSpeed actually has a case here?

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
