I think his take is a bit off.

I can understand the stats and come to a completely different conclusion than he does and it doesn't mean I am frightened out of my mind.

I skimmed, but here's what I'm saying: maybe we don't know what his perspective is. Maybe he's seeing his 35-year-old friends not even leaving the house to get takeout, but rather having food delivered, sanitizing the crap out of it after leaving it outside for four hours… whatever.

All of us draw the line on what we're willing to do in a different place. Maybe he's seeing people draw the line in a much different place than we all are.

Wow, that's a very well thought out and mature take.

You know, if you die from Covid it really messes with your shoulder turn and lag...

So does being locked in the house.

Personally, I don't mind living in some fear for 1.5 years.  I still play golf, still go to the range, grocery shop once a week and still go out for a cocktail.  Though I sit outside and 10 feet from the next closest patron.  And always upwind.  Just want to make sure I make it through to the other side.  There's lots of fun golf to still be played.

At least 20 U.S. states are finding ways to free up stockpiled vaccines. The G-7 more than doubled its pledges for a global international vaccination campaign.

The headline:

Pfizer’s vaccine works well after one dose, and doesn’t always need ultracold storage.

In other words, we might be able to double the rate at which those vaccines are given, and give booster shots to others in the summer or something.

That describes my much younger neighbors. They have door dash every day, and their van has only left the driveway a few times since this all began. If we go outside, she makes her kids come in as if the virus will waft over the privacy fence and hunt them down. The prevailing wind blows towards our house BTW. It’s quite sad...

Dr. Fauci has come out against this suggstion:

"With the U.S. in a mad dash to vaccinate as many people as possible as soon as possible, medical experts have been suggesting various ways to get more shots in arms more quickly. One of the common suggestions is to focus more intently on administering as many first doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines as possible without accounting for the second doses. However, White House chief COVID adviser Anthony Fauci, MD, just warned against this practice, and cautioned people about "the danger" that could come with focusing only on the first dose."

Got our 2nd Moderna dose this morning. No adverse effects so far. Typical somewhat sore arm - no worse than a flu shot. Even hit a few balls when I got home and I think my swing has improved! Anyway, such a feeling of relief. I know we've got a couple of weeks before our immune systems kick into high gear and, even then, we're not out of the woods but my goodness! We can see the light though the trees. Many thanks to all working these clinics. So much appreciated!

Just imagine the guy/gal who invents the vaccine that helps you play much better golf.  There's a billionaire in the making.

I think the mRNA vaccines are going to prove to be a major leap forward - not just for the Sars-Cov-2 virus. But, I may be the outlier on the swing improvement front...

It's interesting because my folks got both of theirs too. My mom, who seems to have bad reaction to EVERYTHING was totally fine. I thought for sure she'd be laid up for a week; But no, nothing at all. Anyhow, I'm glad to hear you are doing well. It sounds like more and more vaccines are finding their way to the public. I now have hope that maybe I'll get to be vaccinated in 2021.

We were OK the day of the shot but the next morning my wife was feeling pretty badly. She had aches, a bit of nausea, fever/chills and a headache. She got out of bed and took a couple ibuprophen and then went back to bed for a few hours. I wasn't nearly as bad but spent the day watching the Genesis through frequently closed eyelids. Just felt very tired. By bedtime that night we were both much better and today the symptoms are gone. I'm thinking I'll try to get out on the golf course in between monsoons Wednesday.

Me too, @boogielicious. It's also a very sad milestone today with over 500,000 gone.
