Just got back from Golfsmith where I bought 13 Winn Dritac Midsize grips.  I'm going from an oversize Lamkin Crossline with I like but wasn't soft enough.  I think that the new grip will be of help.  I'm also having the shop move my Nickent Evolver CYG hosel from a Grafalloy Epic shaft to a UST Mamiya V2 HL shaft.  The Epic came with the club but I was never much of a fan of it.

I play the Gamer V2 as well.  I have plenty but my local Walmart has them on sale for $15/dozen.

I actually just got 3 dozen shipped to the house yesterday for $30 plus $6 shipping.  I've never hit them, but have read a ton of great reviews on these balls, so I'm looking forward to hitting them.  Got a 7:45 tee time tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes

Good luck tomorrow.  If you like them as much as I do buy some more. Dick's Sporting Goods bought Top Flite from Callaway last year, and the ball (and the brand) may disappear into the ranks of other brands that Dick's made into house, never to be heard from again products, like Walter Hagen and Nickent.

I purchased a Groove Sharpening tool from Golfsmith. Wasted $20 bucks, it was a piece of crap. It did nothing to the grooves and the "hardened steel" edges just flattened out. Don't buy one, unless you just want to clean dirt out of your grooves (a common screw driver will do the same thing). It will not sharpen anything.

Thanks for the tip...I had one of these in my hands yesterday but decided not to buy.

Took my wife with me yesterday, got her 56* and 60* wedges, golf towel, glove and pair of Nike golf shoes.  Bought myself a 60* wedge as well.  Hoping to go hit a bucket of balls with these new clubs in a couple of hours.

Clicgear push cart and a black Titleist hat.  Pretty excited about the push cart, hear and read great things.

I didn't buy anything the last three trips to the golf store. I have just about everything I need and I wait for ridiculous sales to buy anyways. I did however get some valuable information about my driver #'s with certain clubs and shafts hitting a few different sticks on the monitor and chatting with the guy who was watching me.

Irons??

:tmade: Tour Preffered 54* & 60* w/ ATV grind

:rife: Trinidad Tropical

Didn't get them from a store. A kind friend shipped them all the way down here for me.

These are the Trapper grind. Will be shafting with 125 gram UST Recoil Prototypes. Tried to keep it clean and simple, with black fill for the logo and no fill on the lofts. Going to 48*, 53*, 58* instead of current 48*, 52*, 56*, 60*. May put in a 5 wood, although with 3 hybrids my bag already has more headcovers than an orthodox synagogue!

Got a 2 ball sleeve of Bridgestone e6's in the mail on Feb 27....with it a voucher for a free personalized Backpack if I purchased 3 dozen e series balls.  I googled the backpack and found it on the Bridgestone site....very nice with a side zipper for your laptop.

I decided that I would try it if i liked the sample 2 ball pack......PROBLEM, the voucher was good for ball purchases 2/1 to 2/28.

I said WTF and went to Golfsmith at lunch yesterday to get the 3 dozen e6's.....well, I had a 10% off Golfsmith coupon and they gave me a free 2 ball pack for eaxh dozen purchased, so i got an extra 6 balls.

Voucher with UPC codes and sales receipt in the mail for redemption of the Bridgestone backpack.

At the PGA store in Paramus I bought Taylormade RBZ driver, 3 and 5 wood, hit them great in the store with the video monitor, more distance than my present clubs and more forgiving, we shall see on the real coarse

    • Lazarus Irons....top notch and way cheaper than the big brands.
    • I know you guys were discussing this like a year ago. But, ironically I just had this discussion with my brother-in-law. We literally just did one of these. I'd always used the "Slow-Cook, Rest, and Sear" Method. But my bother-in-law was convinced the "5-Min/lb, 500 degree" method was the way. So, we gave it a go. I have to say it came out great.  I have a 25 year old, electric oven, GE brand... Not sure if that matters, but it came out great. ... Of course we stressed that nobody was to open the oven.   I don't make these all that often so, I'm not sure if I can fully recommend one method or the other, because without doing a Pepsi Challenge, I'd say both ways come out great. 👍😁👍
