I purchased the lovely Spin Milled Vokey's that are now hanging out in my bag/signature. Although I have only taken them out on the course once, two practice sessions have gone swimmingly. I am amazed at how much spin can be generated with these as compared to the 55* sand wedge (matching my TaylorMade r7 irons) that I was using before. The bounce and grind are just about perfect for me.

I decided to get away from the FootJoy WeatherSof gloves and tried the Callaway Warbirds. Damn I should have made the switch sooner. The Warbirds have a nice piece of rubber on the lower palm, which sticks to my grips very nicely. The FJ glove doesn't have that and I would get slippage constantly (more bad technique I'm sure) and that part of the glove wore down extremely quick.

Congratulations, I made that exact switch myself in June. Got a pack of two Warbird gloves for $15, and I love them. The finger lengths fit my fingers perfectly, a luxery I'm not used to, and the rubber along the base of the palm and the thumb gives great extra grip as well as durability in that key are. I love it so far.

Bought a new golf shirt and black shorts to go with. I ripped them coming out of a sand trap the next day so now I have to go back and buy another pair. I also bought my Mizuno wedge 56/13 the same day. The time before that I bought the Adam's 15 degree hybrid, the time before that I bought the Adams 19 degree hybrid and the Speedline FAST10 draw driver.

I am currently in the market for a push cart. So who knows.

Went to dick's last night....with my rewards check in hand ($10) and all the recent promo coupons rec'd in the mail...

I bought 2 dozen Maxfli HT golfballs plus a closeout Callaway X series glove (closout for $6.97) . Total before coupons was $52

Now, the coupons....Had a $3 off Maxfli's golfballs....this got me $3 off each dozen of the $22.50 price (2 for $45) making them 419.50/doz....I had a $10 off purchases over $50....I had the $10 Reward....I had 200 bonus reward Points.....this netted my total cost to $23.

Not bad for 2 dozen balls & a glove.

Thanks Dick's

I purchased the Leupold GX-1. Now, i'm starting to think that should've shelled out an extra $100, and got the GX-2 (slope edition). How do you calculate for slope if your range finder can't?

    • Day 16: range night! Worked on long game for about 40 minutes, with a good solid 20 minute focus on my priority piece. Things improving there. Bookended that with some wedge and driver work. Finished up with about 30 minutes of short game. Working on distance control and all types of shots and lies. Short game is probably as good as it has ever been.
    • You should be able to install it yourself, honestly. You could easily blow it on and use some one-sided duct tape or something so it stays in place. That's what I've done with one of my grips.
    • Day 22 (12 July 26) - worked on putting tempo today using metronome for accurate tempo.
    • Hi all, My Edel putter seems to have developed a rattle.  I don't think it's a big deal, as I mostly hear it when I'm tapping down ball marks on greens.  However, I am debating getting it fixed, especially as I intend to play a lot of golf in August and September, and to continue playing regularly after that of course too.  My issue is I think fixing it would entail the fixer (golf shop repair station?) removing the grip and, presumably, applying a new one.  My problem is two-fold.   First, I like the grip on it, although after eleven years, maybe it's worth replacing.   The bigger (second) issue is getting the grip.  I don't like the flat-fronted putter grips anymore.  I have the round one on my putter, and I suppose I could buy one from Edel's website, but would a golf shop install a grip I bought elsewhere and brought in?  Or could they order one if Edel is not a supplier of theirs?  I don't recall ever seeing any Edel products in a Roger Dunn or PGA Superstore, although the era when I would go to a store and browse has long since ended (for better or worse).  I'd also wonder what the timetable is, as I'm leaving for a seven week trip in under three weeks. Any suggestions on what to do would be very welcome, whether about the rattle or the grip, together or independently.  Thank you!
