Speed is a different matter. Players may/will have different perceptions of speed but it could be measured accurately and therefore be of more assistance.

Just an example, the 13th tee at my club is pretty sheltered, lots of swirling effect is felt at the tee.  I'll often tell players (after we've played to the par-3) that the "real" wind direction is what we experienced in more open territory on the 11th fairway.  Would that type of comment about wind direction NOT be considered advice under the new rules?  That's the way I read the new Definition of Advice.

Seems pretty definitive to me.

But advice does not include public information, such as:

  • Wind direction,

Would saying "It's a two club head wind" count as advice? It is not speed or distance but I would think it constitutes as advice.

Golf Handicap Association is in charge of maintaining the core rules of golf. In 2021 we realized that golfers were unhappy with the game.

Golfers wanted:

  1. Golf To Be More Enjoyable
  2. Technology and Club Improvements which have been stagnant in recent years due to rules restrictions
  3. Faster Rounds as playing felt slow and
  4. Equal access to information without having to reach a certain level of play or be able to hire a professional caddie.

The 2023 Major Changes for the rules of golf which are included in this version of the Rules Of Golf by the GHA has addressed many of these issues and includes changes to the game of golf that haven’t been seen in over a hundred years. a hundred years.

They're clearly (IMO) the rules for whatever the hell the "GHA" is.

And if that wasn't enough, on the home page…

So, this is not like a "real" thing then? 
Because personally I hate most of these quote, unquote rules. 

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs. 

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Of course not. The GHA, whatever they are, are not the USGA or R&A.

These are just made up rules for their group.

      I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

      So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands

      Original definition use to or still is how far offline you hit it. It might be better to think of it as consistency in retaining favorable launch conditions to optimize distance.   That heat map showed a gigantic 0-3% loss in ball speed. That is absurd. The true 100% sweet spot is tiny for all clubs. Good luck telling the difference if the sweet spot is under 3% in a sizable area. Especially considering variation in launch angle, spin, and outdoor weather.
