Woman Shoots 276 in One Round of College Golf…

Maycee Kay Aycock and Sarah Marshall had never played golf but came to the rescue of D-III Meredith College in the most unusual of ways

434 combined for the two of them. But, the title kinda gives it away…

This is particularly relevant to me as… my daughter's team is in their conference (and won the conference championship that concludes the story). We were grateful to these women for playing as it kept the conference at seven women's teams.

I found the story compelling.   Those ladies might have heard the thanks from the school and the conference but I'm sure every golfer in the conference is grateful for their scores.

That's a good story. Hats off to the young ladies for sticking it out and being able to laugh about it. I wouldn't be surprised if a YouTube golfer or maybe an LPGA player meets with the team at some point.

I also read this article while I was on Facebook. The really interesting bit, is that Maycee Kay and Sarah are really focusing on improving. Sarah I believe was 70+ strokes better in her second round.

They should be able to score some free gear and instruction from the YT golf community.

They’re there next year too.

I cringed a bit at the players and coaches admitting to giving them advice during the round, though. 😀 I get it, but it’s also against the rules.

It would’ve been hilarious if one of the new players doled out two penalty strokes every time their competitor try to help them with advice. 🤣

When I read the article this morning I thought the same thing…. It would have been sad if that happened!

That's a cool story. 
I had to laugh when a coach questioned Maycee's legit 5. ... The girl just carded a 177 and you're worried about her 5? There are those who just can't turn off the competitive juices. 

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs. 

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

      I  no longer spend the time and effort trying to sell something I no longer need. Instead, if the clubs are in good condition, I go to my local golf shop or even Dicks Sporting Goods. Trade the clubs in for store credit and pick up something I need, like a hat. Cause you always need another golf hat!

      Day 205 3-10 Wider backswing, reconnecting arm in downswing/arching wrist through. Also worked on less pause at the top. Recorded and hit a few foam balls.

      I really enjoyed this episode with Nick from Callaway. I didn't know the problem with swing weight and female golfers, but it makes sense. I actually think swing weight might not matter that much. If everyone senses the club differently, then wouldn't it mean that people might feel swing weights differently? Swing weight is a way to classify how heavy a club feels during the swing. Yet for a 70-year-old golfer, a D0 might feel like a D4 for a 25-year-old golfer? I think stronger people would consider higher swing weights lighter. Maybe a C8 equals a D2 in terms of feel?
