Not only were you quoted in this thread already, you're double-quoting yourself! ;)

Sorry, it wasn't for work so I did a bad job of proofing

Oh, I double quoted someone else because I copied and pasted all of those. I guess I get busted for plagiarism and redundancy

Out yesterday with 2 friends, and one of my friend's dads (3 guys in their 30's, one guy in his late 60's)...
Waiting in the fairway for the green to clear, about 200 yards out...

Friend: "Dad, Hit it. You'll never reach them."
Dad: "I better wait. If I get ahold of it, I might hit them."
Friend: "Dad, just hit the damn ball. Trust me, you'll never reach them."
Dad: "No. I'm going to wait. I don't want to hurt anybody. I'm going to use my 5-wood, and I can really boom it with this club."

Dad is dead serious, but he hasn't connected on a solid shot since 1994. We wait for the green to clear, and Dad let's her rip. Digs up about 2 pounds of fairway earth, and the ball rolls 50 yards. Dad shakes his head in disgust, and with 100% sincerity, looks me in the eye, and says:

"I should've used my 3-wood. It's further than it looks."

I had tears in my eyes, laughing the best belly laugh I've had in a while...

That reminds me of a sort of one-liner I trade with my buddy all the time. We'll see hackers waiting for the green to clear when they're three light years away, and I'll say, "you know what that guy's thinking? 'This one time, back in '88, I really crushed one, so I'm going to wait...'"

Nothing in the swing is done at the expense of balance.

If someone smokes a putt past the hole "man you have the touch of a guerrilla"  or like some others have said, leaving a birdie/par putt significantly short, we like to call the guy by his wife's name "nice putt Emily"

For a putt just short...." a south american putt, one more revolution." ....its for a certain age group..lol.

And after a 10 foot topped drive on the first tee, "man, tough course".

Never use a paragraph when a sentence will do.

After a pop-up drive:  That's an elephant's a$$:  High and it stinks.

Ball hit that high and far must have a stewardess on it.

Ball hit that badly doesn't deserve to be found.

Those are way old.  All the others I've heard have already been posted.

When putting we always say for a putt left shot, "what, did the club get caught up in your skirt". The club pro and I joke around quite a bit, we both have a big sense of humor. I also try to instill that into the golf team with a bad shot. Figure out what you did but laugh about it, a temper will do you no good.

    • Day 18 (September 22).  I understand the two club drill better, and was alternating that and hitting a few smooth 6-iron shots;  indoors, off a mat, into the net.  I spent about 20 minutes on this thus far tonight.
    • I don't know your family or work situation, but have you considered relocating to Arizona?  I was out there the past month or so and played quite a few times;  it's hot, but not humid.   Or, if your house is sufficient size, consider setting up an indoor practice area, so at least when the weather or your schedule isn't cooperating, you can still hit a few. ... said Shindig, who has routinely disappeared for months, sometimes a year or more, at a time because of getting busy at work and just quietly sobs to himself as he walks past the room where his mat and net are during that time.  Dang, I need to not allow that to happen again.
    • Day 21 (22 Sep 25) - long day of meetings, took it easy and did some mirror work this evening….giving my left foot a well deserved break.
    • Day 39 9-22 Practiced backswing tonight without moving head. Recorded face on. Hit a few foam balls.
    • Thanks and it already has! Like I said, the last three months of my season were the best golf I've ever played. I'm within the realm of "this is fun for me" now. It was super tough grinding thru that break 90 consistently zone where I just kept hitting the toe, I kept popping up and out of every shot, getting steep. I am one of those guys doomed to shoot 95 forever if I don't really put a lot of work in, and I just wasn't gonna go out like that. My goal is definitely to get to that point of playing lots of courses and stuff like you are, but it's been the right thing for me to focus on developing a better motion. The amount of gym work too I've had to do? I see a DPT with TPI level 2 certification twice a week. I'm in the gym five days a week. The sun zaps the crap out of me for the gym too and I need that energy for all the other things I do on top of this stuff. I'm not really trying to become scratch either tho that would be nice! I'm just enjoying the puzzle that is golf, trying to overcome its challenges in an efficient and smart way. I'm very aware of the physical limitations I'm fighting so this summer has been continuing to address those with a good therapist.  But that's awesome, my goal is to get out there and enjoy new courses, play more rounds, just like you're doing! We'll see how this season goes, but I might be near doing that, if I'm not there already. I was only losing like one ball a round over those last three months or so, which is great for me on these sometimes tricky Florida courses.
