20160305_194335.thumb.jpg.6333125dd19d0eFor those of you who haven't seen the EX9 woods and hybrids + EXI irons, the stock photos do not do these irons justice.

D, 4w, 3h: :touredge: Exotics EX9 Matrix Black Tie 7M3.1 X-Flex... all a 1/2" longer than standard. (So it softens the X-Flex a smidge)

Irons (4-PW, AW) :touredge: Exotics EXi, KBS Tour 105 Stiff (I ordered these almost 4 weeks ago, they just came today) The shafts are not stock... when I was fitted I swung the C-Taper Lite, 90 and the 105 in both Stiff and Extra Stiff, I went with Stiff because they feel stiffer than the Tour 90s in Stiff.

Wedges (54°, 58°) :touredge: Exotics CB Pro S, with DG Wedge Flex... I like a heavier shaft in my wedges, because it keeps my transistion smooth...

Putter: :touredge: Exotics David Glod Tour Series v1.3, 35", Superstroke Mid Slim 3.0... I liked this putter from the get go...

@iacas, I looked into Edel but there really wasn't anyone close to do a fitting... so I stuck with Tour Edge... I think I may need the lie flatter on my putter, I hold my hands low.

more photos coming... I have to figure out how to compress photos. If you have any requests let me know.

All non putter grips are Lamkin UTX +1/16" I wanted non-tapered, but TE gave me a reduced taper which was close enough.

Irons are 1/2" longer than standard, and 2° upright.

Woods and hybrid are 1/2" longer than standard.

Next  upgrade, probably my irons. I am also thinking of ditching my 4 iron for a 5 Ping Crossover.

@saevel25 I think you probably meant 5-PW with your Mizuno irons, correct?

How does the G Driver play? is it more accurate than your previous driver or is it a little sporadic? it is the launch conditions better than what they were before.

Like I've said, before I'm not really a PING guy (though I like their classic clubs, and their newer entries are intriguing)... I'm just wondering how they match up with their previous models.

Also, @saevel25  I'm intrigued by the G Crossover it seems like PING might have figured out how to marry a hybrid with an iron, and make it work...are the crossovers, supposed to be a hybrid that is more like an iron (club length, gapping, and such) because it seems to me that this was already done by Tour Edge with the Lift-off Iron-woods of 1999. At least in how the clubhead looks.

I haven't played it yet. I wouldn't know, this is my first Ping since the G10

You need to get fit for the Crossover. The 3 crossover is about equal to or slightly shorter than my 2-hybrid just to give you an idea how that fits ;).

Mike, @mvmac

My grammar is horrible. I write like I speak. I do have a couple questions about your set-up.

I was reading the Mar 2016 issue of Golf Digest, they list the iE1 irons as player's irons. Are they that hard to hit, or are they more user friendly than what GD gives them credit for?

Do you use the GMax 4i kind of like a DI/UT kind of club?

I do like the set-up. It works for you.

Yes they're are a lot more user friendly than GD is categorizing them as. I've never hit the EXi irons but going from the head design I'd say they are similar to the iE1 and Mizuno MP25 irons, forgiving players clubs.

More like a 3-iron replacement that's super easy to hit and launches high. Currently making some changes to the bag and will post some updates soon. Still doing some testing.

Stupid question but as long as bending the lie angle is don't by fitter it doesn't void the warranty correct or does he have to order them in your specs for you to have the lifetime warranty?

Also have you used there warranty? And what was your experience?

My wife says I can get fit for clubs when we sell our house, and tour edge is a front runner for me at the moment.

I think she just wants me to stop buying random clubs on eBay :)

I believe they like to do it, but I think if an authorized dealer does it you might be ok, mine were bent directly from the factory.

1. You don't register the warranty until after you receive the clubs, all customization by Tour Edge is covered. Changing grips yourself when needed doesn't void the warranty, reshafting yourself does... (Tour Edge can get you just about any aftermarket  shaft you want, if you are willing to wait)... So if you go to Bill the clubfitter to get your lies adjusted, it voids the warranty. If you go to Dave The Clubfitter who is a Tour Edge Authorized Dealer to bend the lies, you might be covered, if you send them to the Batavia, IL factory, you ARE covered.

2) I have had one issue with Tour Edge ever in the 6 years I've played Tour Edge clubs, epoxy coming loose near the ferrule of my V-Blade 4-iron. Which I found out was covered. They basically said sometimes the ferrule doesn't sit flush with the hosel in the curing process, and a minute gap forms that eventually gets bigger, long story, made short they fixed the problem for only the cost to ship the 4-iron there.

Had the G irons in the bag for almost a month. Liking them so far. They launch higher than the i irons (duh) but I can still flight them if I need to. Distance control is also great, especially off slight mis-hits.

G driver is pretty darn similar to the G30, haven't noticed much of a difference except that it's a 9° compared to a 10.5° (my G30 loft). G fairway is awesome, big improvement over the G30 for me.

Little "hotter" than the i irons (I added a brief description to my last post). Always wanted to play a set of G irons but all the previous models launched too high and I didn't like the look at address. I really like the blade length and offset of the new G's, reminds me of the i3 irons. Toplines are a little thick for my liking but more "tour" looking than past models.

Not sure if I'll stick with these long term or go back to the i irons but so far so good.

    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
    • I would never do the extended warranty on the $50 slow cooker.  I also routinely reject the extended service plans on those toys we buy for the grand-kids.  I do consider them on higher cost items and will be more likely to get one if the product has a lot of "Electronic Tech" that is often the problem longer-term.  I also consider my intended length of ownership & usage.  If my thought is it would get replaced in 2-3 years then why bother but if I hope to use it for 10 years then more likely to get the extension. I did buy out a lease about a year ago.  Just prior to the lease end date the tablet locked up and would not function.  I got it repaired under the initial warranty and would not have bought it out if they had not been able to fix it since IMO once electronic issues start in a car they can be hard to track down & fix.  They did fix it but when I bought out the lease I paid up for the extended warranty the would cover electronic failures because my intent is to keep that car for another 8-10 years and I just do not trust the electronics to last.  Last week the touch screen went black and was unresponsive.  It reset on the 2nd time I restarted the car but that is exactly how the last malfunction started.  I fully expect to have a claim on that on repair under the extended warranty.  I do not recall the exact cost to fix last time since I did not pay it but I think it was @ $700-$800 and I suspect that will be higher next time.
