... to indicate where the tee shot is headed so that marshals up ahead can have an easier time spotting it.

Exactly.

I was not a fan of Angel's lack of etiquette early in the round. He constantly moved around while his opponent, Kenny Perry, was hitting/putting. STAND STILL. Congrats on the win, but work on the etiquette.

If Kenny Perry wasn't such a nice guy, I'd call him a choking friggin' dog. But like I said, he's such a nice guy.....so I won't do that.

I will. He did. Got lucky with that par on 18 the second time today, but three bogeys in four holes won't cut it. If we had a choke smiley, it'd be :choke:

I really liked the way Cabrera played, he take advantage when they give him a chance. He was swinging pretty easy, I like that about him, practice swing and hit it and also he can work the ball too.

Good to see a "Latino" winning! Muy bien Cabrera!

Cabrera: the only guy to hit a shank in the final round of a major and win?

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but what a boring winner of the U.S. Open he proved to be. A big part of that has to do with the language barrier and how rarely he plays in the U.S.

Huh - what practice swings? Did i miss something?

This was an awesome Masters final day imo - action packed from the beginning til the end. At the end i was a bit suprised to see Perry choke tbh, since his game normally is pretty boring/steady. Maybe next year Kenny . Congratulations to Cabrera

It´ll probably be the same with his Masters win, but i dont think Perry would have been a more exciting alternative.

Ah yes, that shank, I didn't believe it when I see it.

Well, is not like a practice swing, but you know to loosen up a bit... I don't know how to explain, but I think he don't take a lot of time to plan the shot.

He's done with the shot by the time another player would've been halfway through his first practice swing, of four or five. I'm getting ready for a shot and suddenly the ball is in the air.

I've got to take a second though, to talk about Phil. Heck of an attempt at a comeback today. I know he faded off at the end, but he did make it pretty dang exciting for the middle of the broadcast.
His 2nd shot on #5 (I think it was 5) from the pine straw, was one of the best I've seen in a looong time. That hook he hit out of the pines to about a foot or so from the flagstick, was pretty awesome.

Anyways......good win Cabrera, even if that choking dog gave it to you.

According to ESPN, professionals who miss the cut still get a check for $10,000. Whoa! Is this official money for the TOUR, or just a nice bonus?

Does any other tournament pay those who miss the cut?

In the end, the course and Old Man Par won. Kenny Perry would have won outright except for bogies on #17 and 18. "IF" is the little word with lots of meaning. IF each of the contemders had avoided bogies or double bogies, he would be wearing the green jacket. But----each of them failed to make pars when it really counted. Congratulations to Angel, whose par on the last playoff hole was good enough for victory.

I think that it was a great Major---lots of excitement from Phil and Tiger in the beginning of the round, and a real test of "grinding it out" at the end. Truthfully, I was rooting for Kenny Perry. If he had won, at the age of 48, it would have been the hallmark of his career, and the "story of the year" no matter what else happens from now to the end of the season. Congratulations to him for playing as well as he did.

I was pleased that Angel won the Masters, but Kenny perry handed it to him a bit....a great journeyman but hasnt quite cut it in the majors...will he be coming to the British Open in July?...i doubt it somehow. Ive been looking at KP's play and it seems to me that he can't hit a fade...he just blocks it out there and hooks it back.

In a way the Tiger Phil show took the heat off the leaders, and in all fairness Phil's first nine display was so awesome and ive never seen anything like that in a major from someone who is in contention. It was great when Tiger walked on to the first tee and Phil had his back turned away from him...a very frosty greeting and as Peter Allis put it, 'ive seen a warmer welcome from 2 Boxers in the ring'.

After this major, im really growing to dislike Tiger becasue he is becoming so obnoxious....having said that i loved the way Phil 'bossed' him in the final round...Perhaps a sign of the demise of Tiger's dominanace in the game.

That's one of the criticisms about his game. He hit a very reliable draw (until the playoff holes). IMO, if that's his best shot, he should play it.

I was really bummed to see Angel Cabrera win. I wanted to see Kenny Perry win a major. It's probably going to be his last really good shot at one and since he's been playing well for the last year or so, I thought it was his time. If he does go to the British Open, I wouldn't expect much with his high ball flight and the wind over there. Maybe he'll get one; he seems like a real class act.

I hear alot of talk about Perry choking(and he did), but Chad Cambell had the tourney to win, or lose, after AC went squirrel hunting and Perry's nerves went ballistic... he was in the fairway, and all he had to do was hit the freggin' green.... just put it on the green.. anywhere...and he wins...but...
the choke monster grabbed his glutes.....

    • I dont know if I really have a favorite, but there are two that have stuck in my mind for a very long time. #15 at Erie Golf course during the Finals of the EDGA Matchplay. Was up early and then lost a few holes in row so the match was close again. My opponent had a short putt for birdie. I hit past hole high, but 35 feet right. I drained the putt and looked over at my opponent who was in disbelief.   #8 at Whispering Woods during another year of the EDGA Matchplay. Was playing a very cocky opponent who made sure to mention on the first tee how many times he won the club championship at this course. I hammered this 30 footer that clanked off of the pin and dropped. My opponent was disgusted and that made me weirdly happy. I went on to win 5&3 or something like that, so that entire day has stayed in my memory.
    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
    • Day 296: did a stack session.
