USGA Members?

I just renewed my membership for another year. Anyone else a USGA member? Just curious.

I am. I think most of the proceeds from memberships go back into supporting ameteur golf, which is why i renew every year. I see it as a contribution to the game, much like the charatible donations i make to other organizations. Aside from that, I dont really see the advantage of being a USGA member.

Well, you do get the cool bag tag, book o' rules, and sticker for your ride. This year, I am getting a US Open hat too. Woot!

Been a member for 8 years. This year, for whatever reason, I decided to increase my contribution to the next level up from the basic $25. I forget what the extra "freebies" were...nothing I was interested in, I'm sure. Anyway, I got a letter letting me know all those extra things were on back order and I'd get them oh eventually.

Yup. Playing USGA events makes it a must for me.

Yep, member since 1988. Only back then individuals were called Associates. Only clubs could be members. I joined when I started getting a serious interest in the Rules of Golf.

I joined shortly after the '06 U.S. Open, and I renew my membership every year since. I'm about to send in my 2009-2010 membership.

I've been a member since I first realized there was a USGA. Junior membership back then. I may have missed a year or two somewhere in there when I was at college and not playing golf (or getting all of my mail in a timely fashion), but I'd like to think I haven't...

Anyway, now I have a family/dual membership with the wife.

My wife and I have been members since we started playing almost 2 years ago.

The rule books and the hats alone make it seem like a good investment.

Always seemed like a good way to support the organization that probably does the most to support our sport here in the U.S.

And your job was done so well it caused me embarrassment. I used to be a member every year, but no longer play our state amateur tournament, so I conveniently failed to reup my membership. Need to rejoin to support our game -- point taken.

Wify and I have been members for about 5 years now. She loves watching golf but still hasn't hit her Callaway Gems. :P
