Playing with my wife yesterday, warm up on the range striking the ball well. The second hole playing slightly down wind, 515 yards straight away I hit a high draw and have 185 out. I hit a perfect 7 iron to 20 feet and 3-putt!

Slightly irritated from a 3 putt par, but not fuming as I have made 4 very solid swings to start my round, I step up to the third hole and proceed to rip my driver 7 $%^ yards!! 7!

My wife was speechless and so was I. I literally was within a hair of wiffing. I rarely ever mishit the ball, usually my misses are big blocks or hooks, but I always strike the ball relatively pure. This particular drive was as close to a wiff as I have seen from myself in 25 years, no joke. I am about a foot off the teebox, so I pull out 3-wood and salvage a bogey out of it...but I was shaken for a couple holes.

Ultimately, just a complete fluke, but holy hell was it amazing.

330, followed by 7!! What a game! Share your worst shot of the weekend here!

Badly bladed 60 wedge from 30 yards off the green on the first hole while playing with two strangers. I get nervous and just rush shots and do other wierd things when playing with strangers.

I have even almost felt panicked to the point of thinking what if I cant hit anything right?!?

my entire round yesterday was something better forgotten. lost 5 balls, played in the trees all day, couldnt hit a shot farther than 100yds, got a nice pw shot from about 90 to drop 4ft from the pin then I 4 putted. I almost walked off the course on the 6th hole =P

Bladed a 60° wedge when trying to hit a high pitch and sent it 30' past the hole. Turned around and sank the putt coming back. Worst and best.. back to back

One under through 9.

10 is a nasty little 400 yd par 4 with a lake 250 off the tee. I poke a little 3 wood short of the water and proceed to hook a 7 iron pin high off the bank into the water that extends along the left of the green. Ball is in the water but a lot of it is showing.........I've got this shot. Well, not so much. With a mighty whack and a splash that would have scored well in the national belly flop finals, I mash the ball dead into the bank. Completely unplayable, and now no option but to go all the way back to where I played my 2d shot and play numero 5. Smooth 7. So much for one under through 9.......

Finally hitting the ball well on a round after the first couple of struggling bogeys. Feeling good about myself after a two-putt birdie on a par 5. On the next hole, standing behind and to the right of playing partner, who goes to make a practice swing... the toe of the club accidentally hits the ball... ball shoots off and ricochets off a tree that's about 10 feet off to the side... comes back and hits me in the shin. I go on to bogey the next 4 holes.

Hah...

Yesterday...185 yard par 3. Completely mis-hit the ball (badly) and go to the right and up about 30 yards. I think I sent some grass further than my ball .

Second shot...perfect 9-iron from 155 to within 4 feet....thinking of salvaging my par.

Nope...two putt bogey.

Down...Up...Down again.

Yesterday I had two. Drove within 30 yrds on a 340 yards par four and end up with a seven. Drove 300 yards on a par five, six iron to just off the back of the green, chip to within two feet and 3 putt for bogey. Hopefully the hair grows back quickly.

Worst shot of the weekend:
315-yard drive down the middle on a par-5, 185 into the green. Chunk/pull-hook 5-iron into a fairway bunker up against the lip that is 8-inches tall. Have to pitch out sideways, standing left-handed with club upside down. 75-yard wedge into green, fly over by 20 yards. Double bogey. WOOHOO!!!

LOL....this is hilarious.

OK, here you go: hole 15 during a tournament, Drove into a bunker 30 yds from the green, bladed my bunker shot OB almost hit some people on the next tee nearby, TWICE. Took a 9 on the hole. Oh yeah, that was fun.

Hit into a bunker, picked it clean into another bunker, picked it almost clean and was just short of the bunker. Blade my 60 degree, chip, then 3 putt. Thank God it was in a round by myself.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Played the back nine of a little local course for the first time tonight (usually just go there after work for nine and always have played the front). I played terrible all night, double bogey on a lot of holes and some a couple even worse. Overall just a bad night but somehow I kept my spirits up and just had fun anyway.

The 18th hole was incredibly tough though...houses not far off the left side of the fairway and a rock filled gully on the right with houses behind it. So I step up really not wanting to hit it left and so I slice it horribly to the right and hit a house. Ok, it actually hit the deck (rang the door bell after the round and went back with the home owner to make sure nothing was damaged) but still, it was bad. Dropped and hit my second shot from a terrible lie on a steep side hill and shanked it into the hazard again but hit a rock this time and had a nice bounce into the fairway. Finished the hole ok after that.

Basically I just suck though...at least I have fun while I'm out there and I'm trying to get better.
