But needless to say, the way he is playing at the moment he is a long way from winning another major. I know he has a lucrative contract with Nike but it might help him if he used some decent kit. A set of Callaways or Titleist in the bag would be beneficial to him- I don't rate Nike clubs and I know many people who agree with me.

I bet Tiger has a set of Titleist in the garage and is hacked off that he can't use them.

I can't wait for Phil to come back and resume their rivalry.

Good thing there isn't another major RIGHT NOW. He has a month. He finished in the top 10 in the first two this year. He'll be fine, Captain Over-Reactor.

As for the rest of your drivel, well, that's what it is.

If he plays his best nobody is better. But he cant pull that off as often as he used to, obviously any changes in his swing is do to his knee surgery and preventing it from being torn up again, I dont think he will ever be as consistent as he was before that. He says its stronger than ever but I still think he doesnt trust it and thats why he accuracy suffers more frequently now than before the surgery. And not to mention, the field has gotten a lot tougher in the last few years.

The speculation on his personal life is ludicrous. He is very happy with his wife and kids.

Your speculation into his personal life is ludicrous. We're all just guessing since no one here is Tiger himself.

Tiger probably works harder at the game than anyone else with the possible exception of Vijay Singh (and that's not even a given)

Does anyone know for sure how much this guy really practices? Like spent a week with him when he's not in a tourney? Has anyone here done it like 7 years ago, too? Nobody here is qualified to tell anyone how much the guy practices or how seriously he takes golf now when compared to earlier in his career. Unless someone here is Hank Haney, Tiger Woods, his wife, or maybe Steve Williams, I'm pretty sure we're all just speculating.

It makes sense that he'd put his family before golf especially since he's set financially. But, he's also the most competitive golfer I've seen. On one end, it would make sense that he'd concentrate less on golf and more on his family, but his competitive nature leads me to think he still practices as much as he ever did. Who knows?

I think Tiger told Nike a while ago about how they really don't make top quality equipment (if it's true, he said it in the 90s). In any case, I don't think Tiger is playing the same clubs we can buy in a proshop. The guy is probably getting a Nike club that is forged differently or something. He's not getting something that is made on a large scale. Even if you think that Nike clubs aren't as good as Titleists, Tiger isn't playing the same clubs we buy.

Well since they started testing for roids his game has suffered, HMMMM

Yeah, he's only won three times this year at three of the biggest tournaments.

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you forgot the sarcasm tags or the smileys.

Tiger's Nike contract allows him to make club changes - no matter the supplier - without cause. He can use whatever clubs he wants. As for Tiger - I think he's changed his mentality to be a more consistent golfer - he's looking to "own" his swing. The way he was playing 8-10 years ago was more of a "grip-it-and-rip-it" style - so when he was "on", he blew people out of the water. Who knows what goes on in his head - I'm of the opinion he doesn't play enough. It seems he is down to 14 -16 events compared to playing 21 - 22 events. Over the last 3 or 4 years, he never appears to play enough to get into a groove - a competitive groove - and is seemingly behind the 8-ball come Thursday night. Additionally, he seems to play to par wayyy too much - again, that may be what it looks like because of his focus on "owning" his swing and course management.

i didnt even watch it, but hardly have time to dwell on his game, my own game is being held together by duct tape.

It's the smiles that keep us going. The bits of giggles and good cheer.

Tiger shows too much anger nowadays slamming his clubs down all the time, which probably causes him to lose focus and think too much. He should just try to have more fun instead of being desperate to hit a great shot every time. He does seem to struggle more during bad weather, but I guess that's what happens with most golfers.

I think that might be the best short summary I've seen on this topic.

He still has the lowest scoring average on the PGA Tour this year - and would have last year if he had enough rounds. Heck, he's over a FULL STROKE ahead of the guy in second with a 68.26!!! Wow. I'm surprised how low it is looking at it.

He had major surgery that other pro sports guys take 12-15 months to be back to normal.I'm quessing it still is not 100 percent and maybe he can't workout like he used to till it is fully healed. As for his clubs I allways thought he had Miuara?maybe spelling wrong had forged his blades and he put Nike logo on them.

This is the type of naivety that drive me crazy. Tiger Woods is an actor/entertainer. He is trained to cliche you to death and make all you believers know the sun will shine again tomorrow.

Oh yes, I'm sure his comments on his kids are all just an act. He doesn't REALLY enjoy watching his kids grow up. Heck, he actually HATES his kids.

My comment wasn't speculation, it was based directly on Tiger's own quotes when asked about his kids/family.

I think that hes probably in some kind of major slump. Ever since that US open win at Torrey last year, he has been labeled as invincible. He had to sit around for 8 months and watch paddy win two back to back majors, and then see the US ryder cup team win without him. I think he came back and wants to win a major now so badly that he is puting too much pressure on himself. And each time he finishes in the top 10 of a major this year, it seems like he puts even more pressure on himself for the next one.

People can say that its only a missed cut its no big deal and they are probably right, but that doesnt mean im not a little worried right now. All I know is he has only missed 2 cuts in a major ever (as a pro) and one of them was a legitimate excuse with his father dying. Whats the excuse/reason for this one?

missed 2 cuts out of how many Majors he's played in his career and there has to be a excuse/reason?

I wonder what Geoff Ogilvy's excuse is for missing the cut this week. He's played great this year. I guess this is a sign of his impending demise just like Tiger's MC is a sign of his impending demise. Oh noes!

I really do believe that people think Tiger is Jesus (in that he can't do any wrong, or God forbid he misses a cut or doesn't win every Major) and in today's society I think people hold Tiger in higher esteem then above mentioned Jesus
