i gave myself 1-10% chance. my average drive is 270, and if i hit my 3-wood accurately and cleanly, it'll go about 230, so i'd really have to swing out of my shoes on the drive and then hope that i was able to maximize my 3-wood as well to get it there.

It would take, for me, an awesome drive (280-285 yards) plus a perfect 4-iron (235 yards).

Uh...yeah. Put me down for 2%. Maybe.

I need to see the highlights. Anyone know how he did it? Did he drop his second close to the pin, or did he make an outrageous chip-in?

0%. Yah I just can't do that... yet? Only a month or so into the game so I've got a while to go before I even think about that.

thats a par 5 around here and longer than many of them, no way i could get there. Best i could do is get within 60-70 yards with 3rd shot, might get lucky and hit it close and make a 4, most likely no better than 5 but with shorter tour fairways might get more roll off tee shot if it makes the fairway but no GIR.

25-30%- about what I reach a par 5 of about the same length. More about accuracy than distance.

Slightly OT, but is 7600 yards just getting stupid long?

1 in a 100 for me! My best driver and 3 wood on fairways that are baked out and fast so there's plenty of roll to be had. 518 YD Par 4, that's just nuts!

See, I might be able too sometimes, but it would take on of my longest drives and a very good 3 wood.

I said 11-30%, but that's cause I'd guess 10-15% really. There's two short par 5s on my home course that play about that length, and I haven't been keeping good stats until recently but I'd say I've played there maybe 15-20 times in the last year and had 4 eagle putts...

If you take my now good, but not very best ever, drives, and allow me to tee it up for my second shot and give it another go with the driver... I'm still 40 yards short.

    • Context:  I am on vacation, so I don't have access to my indoor practice room, and I won't for about a month. Day 12 (August 22).  Today's weather was not one where even I was going to be outside.  For whatever reason, I didn't do the putting drill today.  There was a drill I remembered from this site (the article was something akin to "five things you can do to improve that don't require talent") that involved having an iron along the back from stance, moving to backswing and holding, then moving to forward swing and holding.  So I did that for five minutes today. I also spent 90 minutes at the gym;  my main motivation for getting stronger is golf related (and I really should get back to Fit For Golf  specific workouts;  I'm not sure when I lost that habit, a poor choice on my part that I did).  Funny story, I spent 20 minutes on the Stairmaster today at the gym (the rest was weights and rests), a device I started with shortly after I took up golf because I read something about it in a Butch Harmon book.  I should be following FFG Mike's fitness advice though, not some memory of someone else.
    • Day 8 8-22 Worked on backswing length and getting some speed in backswing. Recorded swings. Was happy with practice session tonight.
    • Day 325 - 2025-08-22 Practiced for almost an hour after cleaning my cabinets to account for the new GEARS cameras and helping @OBlum for a bit. Exaggerating the same old things.
    • Yea, faster greens = shorter putting stroke. You can be more accurate.  Really, I think people who struggle with distance control struggle just as much on slow greens as fast greens. I've seen people blast putts 10-FT past the hole on 8 or 9 STIMP as much as 11-12 STIMP.  I prefer faster greens. Usually means the putting surface is better and again, shorter putting stroke.
