This week in get off my lawn.  It seems generally Legion is getting a lot of love since all the pieces fell together in the latest episode - enjoying the show, but not finding it that good. The showrunner is getting a lot of love because of his laurels maybe? Iron Fist, didn't even bother, saw some clips, some were truly optimal suckage. All the Netflix Marvel shows, so meh, the whole universe is overrated.

Amazon's science fiction pilot Oasis was pretty good, dunno if it's going the horror or psycho route, the German cyber thriller You Are Wanted, only watched 30 minutes, looks like a retread, but interesting enough to keep going.

I found "Into the Badlands" again since season 2 started.   It is what "Iron Fist" should have been.    It isn't for children.

I found the premiere of American Gods to be pretty good.  I never liked the book enough to finish it, hopefully this works out better for me.

Anyone watch 13 Reasons Why yet?  The wife and I watched it over the course of last week.  Kind of spins its wheels a lot up until episode ten or so, but the last few were very gripping.

Me too, finishing up book now, I stopped halfway. Now I see what it's going for, maybe less a slog to finish it. Didn't think it was as good as the many praises people were singing, maybe my mind might be changed.

I started watching American Gods too.   Different enough to be good.  Definitely not kid friendly.

It's the Starz channel, not The CW. :-)

I binged my way through Master of None season 2 (after re-watching season 1). I think it's my favorite show on right now. Season 2 really just blew me away.

Man, there is so much good teevee on right now. I love a good story and there are so many. Will catch up on Master of None, but The Leftovers, Handmaid's Tale, American Gods, Twin Peaks, and then Game of Thrones coming, an embarrassment of riches. And I still have not watched one bit of Fargo, Catastrophe, The Americans. Plus there's Veep and Silicon Valley. By the time I get to Better Call Saul, there will be a whole bunch of new shows and seasons airing.

I don't know why I put it off so long, but I started watching Mr. Robot.  It's good.  Very good.

And even though I'm not sure what's really going on, the first four episodes of Twin Peaks have my interest.

    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
    • I had an interesting one yesterday, a local qualifier for the US Senior Open, at the Cascades Course at the Homestead.  Well, first things first, the VSGA arrnged for the officials to play the Cascades on Monday at the players' practice round rate.  Its lots of fun, rather old-style (built in the 1920s).  anyway, a player missed a short putt, and (apparently embarrassed) took a step to be ready to tap the ball back in.  The ball lipped out, and hit the player's foot.  I was nearby, and they waved me over, and asked "What do we do now?"  I was pretty sure of the ruling, but asked them to wait for a few seconds while i double-checked.  I did have it correct, even though its one of the more confusing rules in the book right now.  I'll leave the correct answer out for now, in case anyone wants to guess, or research it, and post their ruling.
