this is not about who wins the most. i want to know who has the most natural talent on tour, weather or not they get the most out of it.

lets not go with tiger. i personally think he wins because he works harder than everyone else and he is prolly smarter than they are too. hes also a beast mentally.

apparently, tiger had the following exchange with John Daly:
''Hey man, don't you ever get tired of that workout shit? Why don't you come over and have a few beers with us and hang out,'' Daly called out to Woods.

Woods replied: ''If I had your talent, John, I wouldn't have to work out.''

even tiger doesnt think he is the most talented guy out there. im going to go with phil. if he fixed his swing faults he would be incredible.

In terms of raw talent (not necessarily having the mental game), it would be hard to say. Fred Couples comes to mind. Phil has a lot of talent obviously, but I think he has to work hard to overcome some of his natural faults. I would probably have to say someone like Rory McIlroy.

Dustin Johnson - long bombing big man uniquely coupled with an incredibly delicate touch around the greens. Could win first major as early as this summer at Pebble Beach, where he's won the Crosby the last 2 years running. Rory MCilroy deserves mention too for that flawless swing.

Tiger is Ben Hogan, he's always outworked everybody. He also has a stronger mental game than everyone, like Jack did. Phil is Arnie; he knows the objective of the game is to get the ball in the hole in the least amount of stokes possible any way you have to do it. Erractic swinger, but able to recover, just like the King. Not always pretty, but they get the job done.

I used to think it was John Daly. I think Anthony Kim has demonstrated his talent is on the John Daly level -- check out how he did in the 2007 season; despite showing up hung over, not practicing, not eating well, and so on, he managed to finish pretty high on the money list, shoot a 67 at Oakmont, and so on. And now that he's practicing to go with that talent, he's going to have a Phil-like career.

Which brings me to my next point on the talent scale: Phil. Phil also has something that few other players possess, and that's sheer imagination.

I think a lot of the pro's do have imagination, phil has the balls to take out a 64* and hit crazy flop shots

I agree AK is pretty darned good. He relies on feel and does well with it.

I almost want to guess that the reason AK doesn't practice more is that he is afraid he will lose his feel and rely too much on mechanics. Can that be right?

Tiger, Phil and AK are those that spring to mind. All three can hit spectacular shots and when they are on a run, really floor the pedal. Havent seen AK play all that much, but Tiger and Phil got both the imagination, guts and game to hit the spectacular shots when they are called for.

I'd nominate Bubba Watson. He hits it a mile with all different sorts of english, but then he pulls off shots like this.

IMO, it is without a doubt Tiger Woods.

Daly's too busy smoking joints and snorting rails.

He hasn't won on Tour yet. He does, however, own a pair of runner-up finishes, one of which came in a playoff. Still, talented, yes.

Tiger Woods, no doubt. He has the talent to be good enough to not play for 8 months and then win 6 tournaments in a year, and then miss 5 months and finish T4 in the Masters. Like someone said in another thread, Tiger missed 5 months, fought his swing all week, and couldn't make a putt to save his life, and finshed T4 in the Masters. As he has gotten older, he has been doing exactly that more frequently. And how did I forget, he won the US Open with a broken leg and a torn knee.

As for Phil, he has talent, sure, enough to make that movement he calls a swing work, but it doesn't take talent to have imagination. If he didn't always listen to that imagination he might have won the 06 US Open, it's a 2 way street.

For Sergio: He just may be one of the best ballstrikers ever but he hasn't won in 2 years.
