2 or 3 fruit punch gatorades and when they are empty i refill with water and flavor it with mio energy (the black cherry isnt bad). if im playing at my home course i usually grab a couple hot dogs or a wrap at the turn. then a few pints of blue moon after the round with a burger or something hearty.

Since I got serious about my game, I don't drink alcohol on the course.  I tend to drink Gatorade and water usually.

For me its almost exclusively water.  If I'm tired during a morning round I'll have a D. Coke for the caffeine.  Very occasionally with certain friends I'll have a couple beers.

I start every early round of golf with 2 diet cokes in the cart.  They usually last to the 6th tee water cooler where I fill my water bottle.  LOL

I tend to be in the minority here but If its the weekend I am golfing with buddies and I am usually heading to the golf course with atleast a six pack for myself and a footlong subway sandwich stuffed in my bag. I have bought water bottles at the turn and not touched em. I never really pound them but I try and pace myself 1 beer per 3 holes. unfortunately I am sometimes buying more beer before the end. A reason for a six instead of just a couple is that I dont really find beer worth drinking unless you're feeling something. If im golfing after work then I probably won't drink but I will sometimes stop and grab a few.

Although last weekend 7 am tee time I only had a gatorade because it was so early and I shot only 14 over but it was an executive but just barely. Maybe worth a try but Im mostly out there to have fun on the weekends and try and play some good golf but my better rounds are gonna come from playing by myself after work.

On my last CA golf trip, my buddy and I had half a case of Paso Robles rose' in the car.  We went through two bottles a side.  Sounds totally gay, but it was great wine, a great golf course, and a great time.

This. I have a stainless steel bottle, holds about 3 glasses of wine. Red during the winter, frozen white during the summer. Even for tournaments, it relaxes me and it's yummy. I do also bring water to stay hydrated.

I have a CamelBak water bottle in my bag that I fill from the various coolers that are around the course.  It's a non-leaching bottle, and a great way to save a buck.  When I'm screwing around with my buds, I might have a couple of beers as well (swing oil), which actually loosens me up quite a bit.

A couple of years ago my men's club SCGA Thursday team won the match play title (vs. LACC), and I had a ritual that I would always drink a spicy bloody mary before we teed off (first group usually went off at 9am), and it must have worked, I went undefeated in 4 singles matches en route to the title.

I put Arnold Palmer in the freezer the night before, by about the 4th hole I consume that which has melted and replace it with Traverse City Vodka.  When empty I refill with water only to complete the round. It Just takes the edge off.

Water and Gatorade for me. I normally start the round with water and Gatorade on the back.

I pick up a 44oz Dr Pepper and it will usually make it through the whole round for me. I don't drink at all when playing (or any other time anymore for that matter, 4 years sober now).

    • Thanks everyone. I’ll likely play this hole a few times over the summer and will report back.    A sick little one plus Mother’s Day may have changed the likelihood that I’ll get to test the approach this weekend though.
    • Yes, our HCP #1 is a longer par 5 (No.3). It's a big wide open hole but has large fairway bunkers that come into play on at least two of the first three shots for shorter hitters. So it's long and treacherous enough (due to bunkers) for shorter or slightly crooked hitters. Par is a great score. For long and straightish hitters (typically lower caps) the bunkers are not in play on either shots. It's simply a high percentage birdie hole for them.

    • Day 9 (10 May 24) - Played 18 with a good friend and one of his coworkers.  Was not a solid scoring round, but lots of opportunites for course management. Had a blast as we truly "got our money's worth" as my friend jokingly said.  Had some solid shots and finished the round with a solid birdie on 17 (the only really good hole of the day).
    • I always wonder when people say they "tried" a golf swing out. I thought I had a topic on it, but when I searched DuckDuckGo for "trying" a golf swing or method limited to this site… "trying"+a+golf+swing+or+method+site:thesandtrap.com at DuckDuckGo DuckDuckGo. Privacy, Simplified. This very topic was the first search result. 🤣
