Is anyone out there hitting a 2H?? I thinking about looking into one because I can hit my 3H and 4H so well but have trouble with the 3W and 5W?? Any thoughts??

I have one - have always been able to hit it better than a 5 wood.

I am not sure it is going to stay in the bag as I now have full confidence in my 4 iron and I would prefer to not lose a wedge.

I play a 16 degree hybrid. Love it! I don't even think twice whether to hit that or my 3 wood off the fairway. Off the tee I'll stick with the 3 wood.

I have the new Diablo Edge 3 and 4 hybrids and love them. Unfortunately, they don’t make a 2 (except in the tour model, which is a different head design). I even called Callaway to see if they would be willing to deloft a 3H, but they said no dice. This is a bummer because I like hitting them off the tee on tight holes and could use the extra distance.

Bobby Jones 2H (19*) - I can't imagine not having it in my bag. My driving is not very consistent so I need those longer shots out of the rough.

I hit a 2h, but it serves a purpose, filling a yardage gap between my 3i and 3w. You may not need one considering all of you clubs and what yardages they play.

Just a thought

I used to have a Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 18*. It was OK, not an easy club to hit well though.
One thing to remember when comparing hybrids to irons is that with a hybrid you will be sacraficing some distance simply because the shaft of a hybrid is shorter. You will gain some control, but you will lose distance.

I couldn't hit the deep faced woods that came with my set but loved the 23* hybrid they gave me. Last summer i picked up a 23* nickent 3dx dc hybrid and loved it so much i went back a week later and got the 17*. I hit the 17* about 230. I absolutly love it. I've thought about getting the 14* hybrid they have but i figure i will start being a whoose of the tee boxes and hitting it instead of driver along with trying to be too agressive on par 5's.

I play one. To me, it's essentially a 5 wood that is better from more lies. Also, a hybrid can be useful for a lot of little trouble shots

What he said. 16* Cobra Baffler DWS 1H, ridiculously easy to hit. Can be used from 205-250.

I play a 16 degree Wilson 2 hybrid. Never played a 5 wood but compared to my 3 wood, the 2H is a lot easier to hit off the fairway. It's a great club for me because it covers a pretty big gap between my 3 wood and 4 hybrid and it's really easy to choke down on a bit to control distance.

I love my 2h. I hit it great off the tee or fairway, very straight. I don't carry a 5w anymore and just recently put a 3w back in my bag (was playing both a 4h and 4i and dropped the 4i, never used it) to fill the yardage gap from D to 2h.

In the bag:
Driver:  Burner 10.5* Stiff     ||    3 Wood:  Burner 13* Stiff     ||     Hybrids:  Slingshot 17*, 21*, 24* Utility

Irons:  MX-300 5-PW     ||     Gap & Sand Wedge:  Spin-Milled Black Nickel 52.08* / 58.08*

Putter:  VP-09 Blade 33"     ||     Ball:  Penta TP

That seems reasonable, what's your issue with it? Too short?

    • I was there just for sunday, and it went smoothly. Thanks @Hardspoon for helping in setting this up.
    • I say this in believing the guy should just pay you and he's a d**k for not.  Do you guys play by the USGA rules strictly? If so, then the claim is valid. It sucks, but it is. Again, he is a d**k for being that nitpicky over it. If he wants to play the game of waiting for you to finish to have his ah-ha moment, again he's a d**k. Though, if the putter is non-conforming, you maybe able to claim that it is not a club?  Just talk to your group and don't invite him back.
    • Couple of added points.  It was pink and maybe 18 long.  I am 6 1   And he waited until the round was over to say something when he was in my 4 some in the other cart.
    • I would have paid you. I think it's a reasonable assumption that the extra putter was not in play.  Having said that "Did you declare the extra putter out of play?"  This person seems like a bit of a weenie and he is also setting a dangerous precedent. Let's say he wins next month. Then when it's your turn to pay up, you could refuse. Telling him "I timed you on hole 8 and you searched for your ball and found it at 3 minutes and 1 second. So, you should have taken stroke, plus distance and didn't." You could then show him your stopwatch feature on your phone where you timed it out to 3:01 and say "See."  I actually would just let it go and assume the guy is a weenie. Because doing stuff like that takes the fun out of friendly bets. If he can't afford to pay up, he shouldn't bet.
