I am 21yrs old and my doctor last year told me I have tendinitis in my left wrist. It acted up, I took some medicine and it was ok through the off season and up to 2 days ago... It started acting up again... I'm thinking its more than tendinitis or I need a shot of Cortizone.

Only hurts when I bend my wrist back, but doesn't hurt when I bend it forward... It sucks...

Ahh and the pain continues.

So you don't think I haven't read anything, I would like to say that I'm sorry to everyone that's taking a leave from golf right now and I hope you get back to it soon.

Where was I?

Ahh, yes. The pain continues.

I made a couple trips down to the course to chip and putt a bit because it wasn't a problem at all if i just took my pointer finger on my left hand off of the club when I grip it. There should be very little pressure in the middle of the grip anyways. So i was chipping a little bit and I decided to try and take some half swings. Those felt great. Then 3/4 swings. Omg I haven't lost anything!

Then full swings.

Still great! Nothing was going wrong and I was hitting my driver about 230 or so. I was loving every second of it.

Until disaster.

Took a normal swing just like any other that I had executed that day. Except the only thing that was executed this time was my knee.

Usually when I swing, my left foot has a tendency to slip and turn towards my target right before impact because of all the force that I'm using in my golf swing. It turns out that this time my foot didn't turn for some reason, but my knee keep going. Dislocated my knee for a second, and it popped back in I think. Hurt like a sonnuva....cart girl....

I'm out from golf for ANOTHER 3-4 weeks. On crutches. Living on a golf course. With nothing to do during the day but text my girlfriend and sit watching the golf channel waiting for thursday to come, mouth agape, when some golf actually comes on.

IIIIIIIII hates injuries.....

Wow Phil, you are in tough shape lately! Mine isn't that bad... Tore my MCL this winter playing hockey and am on the tail end of recover from that. Just hyper-extended my left wrist and got tendonitis over spring break. Am back to golf now and no pain, except my knee feels weak. It really sucks, because my swing is absolute garbage right now and I can hardly make clean contact with the ball. I'm still trying to figure out if it has anything to do with the injuries... I think it might be partly because of the knee. It's hard to put my weight back to me left leg when my knee feels weak. Here's to a quick recovery and a good summer!

Phil, you are a walking, golfing disaster!

I've been lucky that the minor injuries I've had came at a time when I couldn't play, anyway. Talking about cut fingers and such.

Get well soon, and permanently, Phil.

I hope you get back soon rhpm and everyone else. I am nursing a sore foot at the moment and not able to to play much and need to ice the bottom of my left foot after playing. I think it is related to a swing change. The good news is that I am hitting it further, but I hope this is going to "wear in" soon.

Thanks guys. For now my goal is to just sit at home and hope that a new episode of spongebob comes on soon (gotta love being a kid) before I die of boredom. I'll probably start working out my upper body for a while while I'm out of commision. Stitches should be out either today or tomorrow.

I was making my breakfast of champions this morning including 3 eggs, 14 strips of bacon, and a bagel.

Are you trying to add CHEST PAINS to your list of ailments? Holy cow that's a lot of bacon!

hey, you still get to forego responsibility for another 6 or 7 years, and are not expected to do anything but go to school, and make a little money on the side. then you get to play golf as much as you want(as soon as you heal), so quit complaining! ;)

    • Sounds about right. I forgot this place existed until now.
    • Day 5: Mirror work focusing on the start of the backswing
    • Day 82 (22 Jul 25) - played our church men’s group captains choice nine hole this evening.  Had a blast working green side shots with the wedges.  Love the format as I play a nine club bag which brings on shot creativity in a fun way.
    • Finished Bandon Trail today. Man what a course. Big upgrade over Sheep Ranch. I am giving Sheep Ranch a  7/10. Mostly views, course was good, and fun.  I am giving Bandon Trails 8.25/10. It's up there with Sand Valley in my opinion. Much more demanding of the course. With the wind it just gets brutal.  The first two holes are fully exposed to the wind, since they sit on the western edge of the course, open to the pacific. Even though it is tree lined, the wind has a big impact as it rolls over the hills and dunes. You can be surrounded by trees and feel the 20 mph wind at the tee box or fairway. I recommend using the yardage book, as it contains the course layout with a compass rose showing the prevailing wind (almost always from the north in the summer). It's easier to judge which direction the wind is going.  I played halfway decent. I hate when the shank gets loaded into the gun. Short game is on point, putting is good. I just need to make better swigs. My shot is definitely not built for wind. 😭 Here are some photos...
    • Would he not be entitled to unplayable relief and a one stroke penalty? And wouldn't the drop for unplayable plausibly be the same as the one he took?  That he cited the wrong rule and no penalty makes this a two stroke penalty instead of one? I'm assuming I'm wrong and there is a rule that prevents the player from reinterpreting his actions afterwards?  Regarding rule 14.7 - wrong place - and the general penalty. In this case, he gained a significant advantage by having an unimpeded swing? Shouldn't the penalty be for a "serious breach"? DQ?
