My current ball is the Nike One Tour D. Sam's club had them for $12.91/dz. Then I will decide between the Nike One Tours I have in the basement(also $12.91/dz) and Taylormade TP Reds also in the basement. You needed a poll where we could pick multiples.

$12.91 a dozen? WTF? I thought I got a good deal when I got them for $22 a dozen (delivered to my door) on ebay brand new. (I had to buy 12 dozen)

Whatever I scrounge and pick up. I have about six unopened boxes of a dozen balls of Titliest. DT Spin and NXT Tour. Don't know what the difference is but I'm not going to waste those balls on a par 3 where I primarily do my playing.

Started with Titleist when my Dad gave me a sleeve of Titleist DT and said "these are the only balls you should ever play"... so I did. That was 24 years ago. I currently use the Pro V1, and have no complaints except they're only good for about 1 round of golf.

I've tried most of the other balls, a free sleeve here, found ball there but for the most part, have no plans on changing.

Cheers, Allan

I've been playing Pinnacle gold Precision balls so far this season. I've got a couple of sleeves of TaylorMade burner TP balls that I got as a gift that I'll try, too. When I get to the point where I'm not losing three or four balls a round I'm going to switch to the Bridgestone e6 after reading some of the other golfball threads here.

Switched from the Pro V1x to the TaylorMade Penta TP about a month ago. I'm not a huge fan of TaylorMade, but this ball is sweet! I really appreciate the extra spin from 75 yards and in.

I am not surprised a lot of people use Pro V's. It's the balls the 'pro's' use, so that is the ball they must use, even though they have a 20+ handicap. BS! I have used them and admit I am not pro level, but see the handicaps of others using these balls and wonder, why?

My coach says 90% of amature golfers should not use them because they lack in three catagories, swing speed, ability to hit down on the ball to generate back spin, and accuracy. Out of the 10%, only 5% actually benefit from them. This comes from Richard Binney, someone who has played on the pro tour. He had to quit because of hip problems.

I pick them up (Pro-V) along my club's OB and out of the water, most of them a 'one hit' ball. One of the best 'found' balls I use is the Bridestone B330. In my bag, I keep Wilson Zip and TX4's in my bag because of the way they feel, the distance I get out of them (same as Pro-V), and the price, not to mention my skill level. Not saying to use Wilson, but it does not make sense to me to spend big bucks on a name tag when one can actually get as good or even better results out of cheaper options. (Wilson, Top Flight, Bridgestone, etc.) Go ahead and keep using the Pro-V's if you want to, it does not affect my pocket book!

After reading many threads about balls I have started this season with the Top Flite GammerV2. I am really pleased to find a great feeling ball that costs just shy of $20/dozen. I'm surprised Top Flite isn't on the survey list.

Target had Gamer's on sale for $14 a dozen last week, and I picked up the D2 feels that I like for $13.89 a 15 pack.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I shot my lowest rounds last year with Top Flites (D2 Feel, Gamer, and XL Tour). I appreciate wanting to play the "best" ball, but if someone is averaging bogey or higher on every hole, they need a better swing, not a better ball.

I switched to the Srixon TriSpeed, but the greens are just too firm here in Colorado in the spring, nothing sticks to them... I think i'll go with the high end Bridgestone ball for some extra spin on the greens until there is a divot to repair... Currently I can hit a green here with a towering 8 iron and surprisingly not have a divot to repair, and the ball has rolled off the back... not cool. In the summer I'll give the Srixon another try.

Wow, that's weird. I've been having a similar problem - wandering around like a zombie looking in vain for a ball mark - but my ball is still stopping on a dime. What are they doing (or not doing) to the greens in Colorado?

I think that they are still a little cold, it's still freezing at night here... So it's not anything out of the ordinary... I am just carrying a ball mark repair tool in vain right now. Soon it'll be constant warm summer days, and I'll need to use that ball mark repair tool... Until then I need some extra spin!

Pick up a groove sharpener - I'm not shi**ing you - I've been playing the Wilson Eco Core ball this spring. This is so far down the list of good balls, it's not even on the list, but they're hop and stop at worst - it has to be the groove sharpener I picked doesn't it?

I play Bridgestone e6+. I buy used balls but I get grade AAAA. I do have a bag of AAAAA but I only use those on courses I play often since I know where the ball can roll. I hate losing golf balls. Drives me nuts.

I bought one of those sharpeners from eBay, I think I saw you mention it before. Just got it yesterday so haven't had a chance to try it yet. My wedges are in horrible shape so I'm hoping this thing can save them at least until next year.

Wilson Ultra Tour....easily the best ball I have ever played with.

And you don't get raped by the price ( cough Pro v1, Penta TP cough )

In fact, they're $10 at the moment. I just bought 3 more boxes of 15

+3 for Pinnacle. The most underrated ball on the market.

I've used Titleist ProV1 & x, NXT, Nike, Bridgestone and Callaway. The Bridgestone e6 helps off the tee, but I hated it every where else. If you want something similar off the tee but better around the green, try the Pinnacle long (Gold). Not to mention its $10 cheaper and you get 3 more balls.

    • Day 129: 5/4/24 Stack training but could not certify my warmup speed. Dealing with a pulled neck muscle. Chips and pitches at a local course for about 15 minutes.
    • Typically less than 50. I find this can be affected by the "CART" signs on a given course. I don't like taking my rangefinder out of the cart and carrying it around to the green. I am very fearful I will leave it somewhere.
    • First ever holed out greenside bunker shot! It's crazy it took this long to finally get one during a round, but the cold streak is officially over. Hole 6 on the Palmer Course at PGAN. I hit my driver like 225 into a really stiff wind, then worm burned a hybrid into the bunker. I was about I dunno, 40-45 feet away. Birdie! Let's go! The red Xs the approximate location of each shot.  Really fun!!
    • Day 23: Rained all day, so no ball hitting. Worked indoors on top of the backswing feel, and also putted around the living room working on bead.
    • Played Four Oaks in Dracut today going back to the 2 man scramble match play format. My brother and I shot a team 81 winning 3 and 2. Had so many good shots today using a more centered turn. Seems to have really iginited my golf game. We'll see if I can keep it going.
