I like it. Did you find the clips on Youtube mostly, or other sites too?

Great job! IMO, his iron swing was one of the best of all-time. It just looked like he was going to hit it perfect every time.

I gotta say his swing looks a lot better before he worked with Hank Haney

great stuff! that song is pretty awful tho, but great clips. that 6 iron from the bunker is still one of the most stunning things ive ever seen...

Is it my own ignorance, or does it appear that he didn't dip his head nearly as bad as he does now. There was some movement then, but now it's really pronounced. And a lot more lower body action then, too. Halcyon days...

Woods had a better swing with John Anselmo, who showed Woods how to swing like Sam Snead from age 10 to 18, No doubt Woods improved under Butch Harmon, and didn't do so bad under Hank Haney ........ the problem now is more off the course that affects the on course, and not so much the teacher IMO

His swing used to be much more hip oriented. Now it is a little more shoulder and wrist oriented. As for the head movement, I don't really know. When he is playing poorly the head tends to dip more, but that is usually an aftereffect of other problems more than one in itself.

Great stuff... I noticed the lower-body action, too, and wonder if he could do that now given his knee condition. In fact, I recall him saying he and Hank changed his swing partly to make it easier on his knee, and that was pre-ACL surgery.

All the hullabaloo with his off-course antics aside, I must say I miss watching the guy play. I don't care what anyone says, golf is just not the same without him.

We're taking a look at Tiger's swing with Butch and Hank this week in my Methods of Teaching class. My roommate is a week ahead and they already did. I guess it looks much better now...weird. I'll let you guys know, my roommate can be an idiot sometimes but who knows.

Everyone saying it's about the hips... yeah: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/threads...-2000-vs.-2010

Also look at how steep his shoulders are at the top.

Hank also said tiger starting spending hours a day in the gym. He got alot bigger than when he first turned pro. I mean look at the pics, hes like a string bean, now hes bulky. That will change your swing a little when you workout like that.

i dont think that driver shot over the trees was pre haney. I think I remember that being in 2005 where he beat mickelson on the last hole at doral? or was it at the Honda or something.

Let's face up to the key point... the earlier Tiger got the club back in a position where he could move and turn through the shot freely. It was steeper, the club more down the line when needed and allowed him to hit the long draw blast, the zinger fade, and the hold off cut shot. Today he has to manipulate his downswing to do that, as well as time his hand action. All that means less power on a relative basis. Just an opinion.

Very youthful swing. I dont think tiger could swing like that anymore even if he wanted to.

Its true with many golfers. Tigers younger swing was explosive and violent. You cant keep that up forever. Perhaps he can go back to some of the positions he had when he was younger, but he is never going to swing like he was in the video at his age.

    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.

    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
