I believe they did NOT broadcast in HD but was upconverted to HD by ABC. I think it was 520P (or something similar) in previous two years.

That NYTimes article said the Open will be broadcasted in HD for the first time. We've been watching it in HD for sometime now. Maybe they meant 1080p?

I actally like that look - symmetrical and nice colours better than some of stuff that doesn't get a second look. Like Gary Player with hit argyle sweater tucked into his pants and pulled up to his moobs.

I really love this guy, its a shame the two majors he was in serious contention in so was harrington, being Irish I had to root against garcia, if it were any other player I would have been supporting garcia, I really hope he lays some demons to rest at the old course this week

This pretty much proves that JD is more of an a** than a lovable loser.

Whew! JD gets roasted for his looks. Eldrick looks like his ex's attorney may be sneaking up on him.

Some of you guys are hilarious.

When Tiger announces he is switching putters, you post that he must have been paid by Nike to do so.

But when Daly shows up in a Loudmouth brand sportcoat, and gets a lot of publicity for it, no one can figure out that Loudmouth paid him a ton of money to wear it?

I agree he looks like a clown, and it is not for me, but from a marketing perspective, he got himself and the brand noticed, which is what they wanted.

between a problem drinker (Daly) and man who goes out on his wife and kids with •••••s (Tiger), ill trust the problem drinker anyday.

Is he being sponsored to wear his colourful attire? Who makes it? I taught he just did it by himself

Google Loudmouth clothing.

Who asked you to trust either of them? You should probably worry about trusting your own family. I guarantee you there is at least one of both of those types in all of ours.

I'm guessing Garcia's going to wear yellow and red tomorrow. Spain also uses blue, so probably he'll be blue man golfer as well.

I am a fan. But not of this action. That is not style. He should at least figure a subtle way to throw his Loud Mouth clothes into the photo. How about going with suit and a Loud Mouth printed tie and handkerchief? He did not even try. Lame.

As much as you and I might hate the look, this company makes the loudest, brashest most garrish clothing possible and they have chosen John Daly as their spokesperson. Do you really think they wanted to be subtle?

Just seen the pic - Wow!
LOL!!

Have you seen his trousers today! I strongly recommend sunglasses and NOT watching in HD!

He should let his game speak, not his clothes. I don't mind colors on the golf course, but at a press day, with everyone else wearing black? Come on.

    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.
    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
