Lately for me - it's (and keep in mind I'm left-handed): LEFT - RIGHT - DOWN

I can explain this in detail if anyone's interested. Regardless, it approximates (in a simple form) much of I've been working on, and it's concise enough to A.)Be able to think of as I swing without really 'thinking', B.)Repeat in my head to get my mind clear, C.)Recall and use to calm myself when my emotions get away from me one way or another

Any other similar stories?

hi I would love to hear more about this,as my mind is full of what I should or should not be doing,I wasint sure what you meant left-right-down,I am right handed

The last thought I have before I begin my take away is "don't hit the ball". If I think about hitting the ball, my swing is jacked. I want to simply swing the club and let the ball get in the way.

My equipment:

Driver - Callaway FT3 Fusion (9 degree)
3 Wood - Orlimar Tri-Metal (9 degree)
Hybrids - Bobby Jones (17, 21 & 25 degree)

Irons - KZG XCB 5 - PW

Wedges - Warrior (52 & 56 degree)

Putter - STX Envision

Ball of choice - Callaway TOUR i(s)

I don't abbreviate it but I often repeat turn, pull, turn to myself. I tend to plant my left leg, lunge a little and then overuse my arms. If I feel the pull in my left rib area and then turn, my tempo is better and I don't over use my arms, which for me means big time pulls and hooks, plus my weight shift is better.

I use the "Sam Snead" method where, from what I read, he said "Sam" on the upswing and "Snead" on the downswing but I say my own name. I found this really helps me swing easy when I finally figure out that I have sped up too much. I never say this out loud though, the other golfers would think I was nuts.

I say Jose Maria Olazabal. Is that odd? I do the Spanish pronunciation with a Castillan accent perfectly. It helps me visualize the shot.

Bring the club up then i think 'elbow in the pocket turn the hands' gets me to bring my right arm down and in and my hands to turn over

Years ago I used to hum "Yellow Submarine". Lately I just think "left arm straight" and then "weight forward".

Imagine myself holding a brush and try to sweep smoothly when I hit long irons or fairway woods.

Works most of the time, though. You should try it.

i dont really have anything specific that i think in my swing, but i golf pretty well when i act like fred couples. just take every shot nice and easy and dont react to anything too bad and just take each shot as it comes...but lately i have sped up my tempo, gotten mad that i hit so many bad shotsm, and pretty much started golfing like tiger woods.

It's funny you said that about Couples...Whenever I find myself getting quick on the swing and I need to check myself, I picture a butter-smooth Freddie Couples swing, take a couple practice swings thinking about his swing, then get back to my game.
