So Tiger's going to the desert next week instead of Pebble Beach.

Does he need the appearance fee that badly?

Or maybe it's because Phil has won at Pebble three times in the past 12 years, and Tiger only once.

I know he has a fondness for the desert and has won there twice, and higher ranked players are playing there, but I sure would like to see him in the Pebble field.

When a company makes a club in the USA I will proudly display their brand here. All of mine were made in china by somebody making $2 a day. Shame on you Mr club manufacture.

Maybe he wants to look at his signature course before the desert takes it all.

correct me if im wrong and very well might be. But i thought he rarely played in the pebble feb pro am which this year is his old sponsor AT & T...

I would like to see tiger play a tournament at a location he rarely ever goes. Like St Jude or John Deere classic just to see how he plays on a course he doesnt play all the time.

Hey, thanks for clearing that up.  I hadn't realized Tiger was making the decision.  It's not like I understood he was making a decision, but disagreed with it.  Strangely, I decided to comment about Tiger's decision not to play at Pebble in the thread someone started about Tiger not playing at Pebble.

It really looked like he was getting on track at the end of last year but at Torrey he looked like a hack.

I think the real golfers and golf fans will watch guys like Gainey, Watson, Mickelson, and whoever else might be playing well. Those who don't know anything about the game and/or don't play it might not, but they won't be a big loss.

His course got shut down and is on hold until if/when the market gets better.

This is a real dumb statement.....Mickelson, yes. Gainey ??? Watson ??? Are you serious ????

Tiger plays thru the weekend at Farmers not contending, and it makes headlines on every blog, site,etc....and yet Westwood, the WORLD NO 1... played +4 or something in his first tournament, MC on his 2nd tournament of the year, and nobody even notices ! What does that tell you ?

I totally agree with basscat. At least with eldrick out they focus on the other players and stories[sometimes].When eldrick is in that is all they talk about. I personally like watching golf without him playing

he needs to play where he feels he can help his game and get a little bit of confidence back. i assume he feels the desert will do this.
