earlier this year, I shot 44 on the front & was hoping to break 90 for the first time.      FAIL - shot 56 on the back (every single par 5 is one back side) ... I have a tendency to run out of gas about halfway through the back side - I usually just play 9 holes after work, so when I play 18, I have to work on my endurance, so my score don't suffer on the back end.

I play 10 - 12 strokes better on average on the back 9.  I think it takes me 4-5 holes to get in the zone when I play.

Lopside score? I score equally horrible on both the front nine and the back nine! :)

I shot 51-35 once on a 36-36 par 72 course.  LOL

This was about 10yrs ago when I played to a 7-9hc, and I still remember that round!!  I got a bad case of the shanks on the first nine and it was UGLY.....The most shocking part to me was the shanks were the first part of the round and that I recovered.......usually it's the other way around.  LOL

-- Mizuno Mx-25 six iron-gap wedge
- Mizuno Mp-T4 56degree SW
- Mizuno Mp-T11 60degree SW
- Putter- Ping Cadence Ketsch

50 - 36 After the front nine I couldn't believe how badly I'd done -- it was my worst nine in about 9 months. Then I played even par on the back for the first time ever with two bogeys and two birdies. Amazing.

Agreed.  When the course I'm playing is not busy, I'll play 4-5 holes and then swing back around and start over, LOL.

I cannot think of any rounds where my front and back scores were significantly different.  Usually they are within a few strokes, which does not necessarily mean much other than once I am on a certain streak, I tend to stay on that streak through the entire round.

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

18 strokes is crazy!  Seems like other have come in at that range too.  I think my biggest was 51-38, though my favorite to talk about was a 41-33!  Both on 36-36 par 72 courses.

I've had some crazy ones this year when my back would give up on about the 9 to 12th hole. I'm not digging out the scorecards to see just how many strokes it was because it's kind of depressing (I can't remember it being anywhere close to 18 strokes though). It got better as the summer went along and hopefully I can come up with a routine to keep somewhat limber through the offseason. I only played 1 time during 2010 so that didn't help.

Nothing major 44/37 Except through the first 3 holes I was 6 over, the next 15 only 3 over

I shot a 39-50 on a par 72 earlier this year.

The back nine at my home course is tougher than the front but not  that much! Just blew it!
