That is a bummer. Long range forecast for us calls for a mild winter. No complaints here. :)

We had about 6 inches Tuesday night and Wednesday.  It's mostly melted now and I have a tee time at 10:48 Monday morning.

frankly, i don't know what i'd do if i had an actual winter that would prevent me from playing golf.

i took off work early last tuesday to go play, only to see drops of rain hit my car on the way out there.  luckily, that was it, no rain actually came, but i was soooooooooo bummed in the car seeing this.

CSB, one time i was playing one of my greatest games, i was 2 over on the front nine... playing incredible golf for myself, and it started to rain when i was on the green on 9.  on 10, it started to come down harder, and when i hit the tee box on 11, the rain was sideways.  i tried to keep playing, but it was really coming down hard (well, hard for LA, probably just a drizzle to you southern folks).  I couldn't keep playing, so i posted a 38 for the front 9, and sank my head thinking of what could have been.  actually, that wasn't a cool story, but whatever...

I grew up in Long Beach and still have my folks living in Southern Cal.  (Huntington Beach).  I visit them about once a month and play various courses out there including the Recreation Park and El Dorado, and Alondra.  Which courses do you typically play?

By the way, while we get some snow in Colorado, most of it melts relatively quickly, so we can still play throughout the winter.  However, last few years (not last year) have been bad as it snowed almost every weekend from December to February.  Just on the weekend--Sigh!!!  I am hoping it won't happen this year.

It was 35 when I woke up never went past 47 today.  Tomorrow they are calling for rain with chance of snow in evening, high of 46.  Sunday is supposed to be sunny but in high 40's.  I have to move south or atl least buy a 2nd house in Miami.

I played this morning and it was 36 when we tee'd off and it never got above 47. Luckily it wasn't windy so it wasn't too bad but I was definitely not ready for it to be that cold. Saturday looks to be a wash but Sunday looks like I will be able to get out.

I LOVE winter golf so as long as no snow is on the ground I'll be playing! Last year snowed a lot so I didn't get out much :-( I hope it's a mild winter. Sunday in Md looks perfect! Sunny with a high of 50!

Or calling him in mid July from your air conditioned house when its 94° and 95% humidity, while he is enjoying a pleasant summer day at his home course?  There are trade-offs to either locale.

You don't have to shovel humidity.

I love that I can golf all year long... in the winter it's absolutely perfect and in the summer, even though it's hot as hell (105ish) I can still deal with it (mainly because there is nobody on the course and I can play 18 in 2 hours or so).
