If all you could offer was one piece of advice on golf what would it be?

My advice would be swing nice and easy, don't try and kill it.

Dang, you took mine. Let's see... Uhh... I'm not sure whether I'd say "take an extra club" or "hit 3W on all the relatively short par 4s." I like them both.

But really, in the end, I've gotta go with this: practice your short game.

Just Have Fun!

That is my best tip. If it isn't fun to you, then you won't want to learn or get better. My last couple rounds haven't been as fun because I have taken it too serious. If I was getting paid for it, that would be ok. But it's ridiculous that I get mad when I'm paying for it.

So just have fun!

For me the biggest impact was thanks to "Never let your head cross the line of the ball". During setup imagine a line perpendicular to the target created by the ball to the left and right. Like a wall. Keeping the head from "banging into the wall" did wonders to my swing.
It's one of my pre-shot key thoughts.
Close second is - imagine your spine is a axis, extended down and up. During the swing all you try to do is to turn your upper body around it, keeping the same axis all the way.

oh, I forgot the Jack Nicklaus classic !
He (supposely) said, that there are only 3 ground rules to a good swing:
1. keep your head down
2. keep your head down
3. keep your god damn head down

Get those pitches and chips all the way to the hole.  You'll be surprised how many of them find the bottom of the jar!

My last swing thought on every shot around the green is: 'get the ball ALL the way to the hole.'

Given my skill level, but after lots of $$$ on the clubs that would fix my ball flight ... I discovered it was me, and not a club ... so my advice is simple:

Get Lessons!!!

Its the one thing, that help me break below a 100

    • Flying into ATL on Sept 11 (Thu), early, leaving Sept 15 (Mon), late. Dates are fixed. Trying to hit the best RTJ Trail stops without spending half the trip in the car.   Plan: Thu: Grand National (Lake or Links) Fri: GN AM, then drive to Capitol Hill, play Senator Sat: Capitol Hill – Judge Sun: Ross Bridge Mon: Oxmoor Ridge early, drive to ATL   Thinking about squeezing in Cambrian Ridge after Capitol Hill—worth it or too much? Would love any feedback or tips from those who’ve done it.
    • Day 73 (13 Jul 25) (note: forgot to post the "day" for the past few days, up to day 73) - Easy day in the backyard, with time on the 50deg wedge and the mat (simulating tight lies around the green) working on low spinners.  Love using this mat as it is small and portable but also lends to being a type of alignment rod to get a proper setup.  Finished up with a few swings with the 54.
    • Congrats on the new leg of your journey - the challenge of learning something new while dealing with Parkinson’s is totally awesome.
    • Played several holes today with my Buddy's left haded clubs.  I was going to order just woods, but after playing again today and hitting the irons well, I will be ordering a complet set of Left handed Clubs.    They are Callaway Edge, Regular flex.  I am excited !  Will let you know after I try them and let you know how well they performed.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • Depends in part on what lie the greens crew left me. If it's first cut of rough or fairway and clear shot to cup, it's an 8i chip and run. If it's shaggy, or I have to go over ridge or bunker, it's a cut shot with a 58* LW.
