I really don't like Sabbatini.  Too much arrogance not enough game.  Looks like he's playing for 2nd Tiger just birdied 18

I'm standing just off the 18th hole here at Muirfield Village and the place errupted when Tiger just birdied!  That's 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to win!!!!

Tiger is a douche,

but he is golfing greatness today, birdies on 2 of the last 3 holes.

Gotta' love the golfer, even if you don't like the man.

Nice to see. Good for Tiger. He suffered enough for his past mistakes. I hope this gives him the confidence he needs to get back to his old dominating form. He really played well this week.

Tying Jack at his own Tournament with that crazy flop shot and clutch play down the stretch on a very tough golf course...I couldn't imagine a better situation for his 73rd win.

But man, what happend to Fowler? 84 today, really didn't see that coming.

Oh no, Levin doesn't deserve a penalty today, he hung in there though even after losing his swing.

Looks like iacas timed the closing of the "Tiger vs Phil" thread pretty well. That shot on 16 took balls the size of cantaloupes. Last two groups: Fowler 84 Levin 75 Sabbatini 72 Tiger 67

Tiger is a douche? He was a bad husband and a worse father but really a douche? Golf has benefited more than most will ever know because of him which is why he will be the best the "ever played the game". Calling him a douche is very amateur hour in my mind...

Spencer Levin let out a "God dammit!" on the 18th tee that got through the broadcast. Ban him from Augusta!

The hole was downwind, and it was pretty strong there because of how open the hole is.

That was the first time I leapt out of my couch since football season was over.  And for once I thought the announcers weren't being hyperbolic when they said we haven't seen emotion out of him like that in several years.  That shot was one of the few that would have been worth the price of admission.

Man, that was just the most exciting finish i've seen in a golf tournament in a long time. Just seeing that hole in at 16, I was sure he had it. But then to throw down the birdie at 18 to seal it, 3 birdies in 4 holes. Just awesome,. and a great week of golf.

Douche, I guess, can be many things.

To me, Tiger's public persona is very guarded and corporate-like, and he dealt with his personal issues in an absurd way. I don't mind saying he has douche-like traits.

As a golfer, I've always stated that by the end of 2012 we'll be able to judge his game.

That shot on 16 sent chills up and down my spine - it was greatness, and I appreciate his golf.

I also hope he gets other aspects of his life together. But his combativeness with the press, only talking with media who praise him, his statement that he would be calmer on the course, that he'd be a better individual -- well, y'all decide.

Congrats to Tiger, the golfer. I admire the golf.

_________

From the Urban Dictionary:

Douche: An individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intellegence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.
The low level of intelligence is harsh but Tiger's past behavior and some of his recent behavior appears to fit the definition.

    • To flog this subject even further, if that's even possible, this article from Golf Monthly just appeared today in one of my news feeds. Written by a golf writer in the UK who I never heard of, he's basically saying that there should be only 3-5 rounds from the most recent 20 that should count towards the average and only competitive rounds should count. He claims the erratic scorers would have less of an advantage than they do now. He makes a lot of references to "club golfers" in the UK being the ones who are mostly dissatisfied. https://share.google/qmZZBEoJvOxHxJGil  In my experience with my league where we have golfers with indexes ranging from 5 to 40, looking at the weekly results from the past two years, I can detect no pattern that would substantiate the claim that the current system gives an unfair advantage to either erratic golfers (aren't we all?) or higher handicappers. Apparently though, at least in the UK, this seems to be "a thing."
