Boy you are not kidding, Tiger is firing at pins and putting like trash.

Way to battle back Rory, red numbers!

EDIT:

Ugh, stupid shot tracker.  Told me his first shot was 2.2 feet away.  That was actually his second. Still Even...

It's really not that bad, he has only missed one putt inside 10 feet all day. He just was a bit unlucky with lipouts on 10 and 11, ball 1 inch from the hole on 1 and so on.

He hasn't made a single putt outside of 10 feet though, has he? That's the point. He's missing a lot of putts from 10-20 feet. It's not like he's just hitting the greens and leaving 50 footers.

Yeah that 18th hole isn't the tournament course.  They have 36 holes at Muirfield... Erik posted the 18th on the tournament course.  It is a nasty hole which takes an accurate tee shot.

He made a 13.5 footer on 17 for birdie.  That is his longest.

He has a 9 ft 7 inch putt for a tie for the lead on 8 now...  and missed it.

He should be at like 4 or 5 under, even with that double bogey.

I agree, he has made a lot of six to nine footers to save par, and he just made an 8-footer to get back to -2. But lately he seems to making a lot fewer 15 to 25 footers than the other top guys --- Donald made a bunch last week.

If Tiger makes his next putt inside of 10 ft, he'll be tied for the lead.

Rory stud!

Fires a 4 under 32 on his second nine to finish the day 1 under.  That is great mental game to battle back from a +4 after 3 holes.

You are a little behind... he already missed it.  Still 2 under.

Yeah, I would not have thought he was going to finish under par after putting three balls in the water on his front nine. Very impressive.

Did they update the OWGR yet to refect this conclusive evidence?

Nice to see McIlroy fight back to -1. I always had the impression that he gives up a little too quick if things don't go his way. For example last week at the PGA or in the 3rd round of this year's Masters.

Yes. Blake Adams is now number 1, which I thought was a slight overreaction. Mike Weir (+11) is currently unranked.

There's a chance I might be ranked higher than Mike Weir after tomorrow.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
