I recently changed the grip on my putter while doing so I cut the shaft down to 31". I still hold the grip at the bottom of the grip, I feel it makes me look straight down the putt line. This got me curious; what length is your putter?

I am 5'11 btw

Depends on who you ask - me or my wife.

I have a 35 and I play all the way at the end of the grip (I'm 5' ll" also), but I have a good amount of elbow bend so I'm still 'over' the ball.

Mine is 35.  I was thinking about cutting it down, but after a putting lesson I ended up standing taller and now I use all 35 inches, so I'm glad I didn't cut it.

35 inches - but I think 34.5 is more ideal. I am still upright at 6 ft.

I'm just getting back in the game, but when I went to shop for one, I tried a whole bunch of them, probably 20 or more, and wasn't comfortable with a 34". I was more consistent at 35" so I went with that. I'm 5'8".

32" and I still grip down but lately I have been experimenting with a more upright stance

Just out of curiosity, what kind of putter did you cut down?

I was fitted for 35.5" and I am 5' 10".  I think it really depends on your stroke.

Nothing special... something like this one

the original grip said Crossfire on it, pretty sure I got it at Wal-Mart like 5-7 years ago for 20-25 bucks. I love the feel of it, several friends have Rossa or Pings and I've hit them a lot. At this point I am so use to this cheapo one I don't care for another.

I put a 1.67" grip on it and I believe the grip cost more than the putter itself

Knock off Ping is about all I've seen that's close to it.

I'm 6 feet tall.  My 'old' putter is a 35".  I have a 2nd putter that I bought about  20 years ago with a 33" but have never been able to make a decent putt with it.  It's only 2 inches shorter but I feel like I'm humped over a lot more when I use it.   So it only comes out to play once in a blue moon.  And when it does my putting is a disaster.  I re-gripped my old putter a couple of months ago...had a $10 gift card for Golfsmith so I went over there and bought a putter grip.  They guy at the register suggested I just buy a new putter ( I took my old one with me to the store).  I told him I'd hit almost every putt I'd made for the past 25 years with that putter and had developed a nice relationship with it.  :)  It's an old Tommy Armour that kinda resembles a SC Newport.  Paid $50 for it back in the 80's and it's probably worth less than half that, at best, nowadays.  But in my hands it's a solid putter and always gives me confidence.  And the weight is just right...I guess I'm just used to it.

I was messing around with a broom style putter the other day at Dick's and I must say once I got over how goofy it looked, I was impressed. For $50 bucks I may go back and get it just to mess around with, or worse actually use on the greens. My current putters are 33" stock with 3" added on but I choke down on them. For whatever reason they work for me. I'm 6'1" by the way.
