For some reason, Tom Watson really rubs me the wrong way. To me, he comes off holier than thou, sanctimonious almost. He irks me to no end.

Which is particularly irksome given his own marital and alcohol issues.

Yeah, most people either don't know about them or just choose to ignore them. He just comes off so disingenuous.

If I had to choose three: Favorite: Tiger, Cabrera, Jimenez Hard to leave off a lot of other guys like Choi, Goosen, Furyk, Daly, and Weir. Least Favorite: Mickelson, Scott, Spieth (I know i'm an awful person)

One doesn't often find Choi on a most-liked list, or a most-hated for that matter. It's a good choice, met him a few years ago and he's a super nice dude. His caddy at the time, Andy Prodger, gave me a couple Nike Platinum balls before they were on the market, just for the hell of it. Now your least liked list? Mmm, that could use some work. ;)

  • 3 weeks later...
Favorite Players: 1. Rory McIlroy 2. Martin Kaymer 3. Adam Scott They're pretty easy on the eyes too (I'm a girl, ok. I watch for the sport and know how to talk golf) Ieast favorite players: 1. Tiger (I'm sorry he's kind of a jerk) 2. Jason Dufner (well he doesn't really bother me on the course, I didn't like it when he grabbed his wife's behind on tv) 3. Henrik Stenson (kinda negative attitude on course, especially when he breaks clubs. And then the whole taking off all the clothes incident, that explains itself)

McIlroy & Kaymer good on the eyes? Lol

Rocco Mediate is no longer a tour member, so I can't count him, I guess.

Phil, Keegan Bradley, Miguel Angel Jimenez.  Anybody who smokes as much, drinks as much, doesn't work out, and plays as well as MAJ is good in my book.  If he's not a tour member, I'll take Rory.

I don't know who my three least favorite players are.  Whoever talks to much about their right-wing Christian nonsense.

How could you not like Rocco? He let Tiger win in the 2008 US Open playoff. I'd have thought he'd be a favorite of yours! ;-)

And then he criticized my boy's swing, saying he could fix it in five minutes or something like that. NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER!!

Kaymer I simply could not find a good picture of Rory :-$ My wife thinks Rory has a cuteness to him...but the accent helps she says.

I still think he looks and acts like a robot lol....and he's German lol

    • https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/articles/2021/10/golfs-modernized-rules-amateur-status-published-usga.html#returnable As part of the modernization effort, the new Rules identify only the following acts that will result in a golfer losing their amateur status: Accepting a prize with a value exceeding the prize limit ($1000/£700) or accepting prize money in a handicap competition. Playing as a professional. Accepting payment for giving instruction (although all current exceptions still apply, such as coaching at educational institutions and assisting with approved programs). Accepting employment as a golf club professional or membership of an association of professional golfers. To achieve this simplified approach, the following key changes have been introduced: Distinguishing between scratch and handicap competitions in terms of the prizes that may be accepted. The prize rule applies only to tee-to-hole competitions played on a golf course or a simulator, but no longer apply to long-drive, putting and skills competitions that are not played as part of a tee-to-hole competition. Eliminating all advertising, expense-related and sponsorship restrictions. Also…   R&A rule amendment to help deter amateur cheats - BBC Sport The R&A is amending proposals that would have allowed humble hackers to pick up money for winning club tournaments played on a handicap basis, writes Iain Carter. The new rules also shorten the time professionals, who might want to leave the paid ranks, must wait before regaining their amateur status to six months.  "That's significant," Moir insisted. "A shorter period means we are less likely to find people getting disillusioned and drifting off from the game. Getting them back in and playing amateur golf at an elite level will be a positive thing."
    • I forgot to note that I started yesterday. I did the stuff at home, and though I had planned to write a bit more, I have a few little notes. Though this will sound like nit-picks (and they are), I want to stress that overall I enjoyed the program and found it pretty easy to work with. Again, these are some nit-picks… and if you see how small these are, and you know how picky I am, you'll see that I've not got much. @boogielicious got the major good things down in his earlier post. First… Videos are available for everything, as is a text description. The app hasn't fully been updated to support the iPhone X and other devices with a notch, because… the "play" button is almost near the notch and under the WiFi signal stuff, etc. It made it tougher to start the videos than it should have been. The actual workouts were nice, and well organized. I wouldn't have minded a "check" system so I could "check off" an exercise when I did it. I also don't know why I'm asked to give "reps" and "pounds" when I'm not using weights. Or why some activities had these, but others didn't. I'd have appreciated an "equipment list" at the top of the workout sheet so that I could have rounded up all of my equipment before-hand. Lastly, when you finish… Yay! The first workout (Monday) took me about 62 minutes. I too watched the videos at first. I hope to do my Wednesday workout ("101 B") at the gym tomorrow.
    • Any shaft I ever felt loading and unloading was a shaft I would spray the ball all over the place with.
    • Saw Sean a few years ago..was confused through my lack of understanding of the golf swing not his videos. Revisited his stuff due to my distaste for my swing and results. I implemented his 2 main videos..weight shift and swinging to target.Took a bit to get used to as new things do but results have been impressive. Went from a 22 to 15 currently and still going down fast and that's with a below average short game. After years of struggle I'm a happy man.
    • Good point. Quick summary: Love loved Tobacco Road. Will go again. Talamore I could do without, though pleasant. Southern Pines is off to a great restart and I look forward to visiting again. Schoolhouse 9 is worth a quick stop, especially if you can incorporate a pint at the pub.
