Maybe it's really KIM Jong Un.  He's gone missing in NKorea,  and his dad shot 3 or 4 HIO first time out, so maybe, just maybe the younger  KIM has terrific golf genes,  which combined with his winning style and commanding personality, now permits him to set out on his own and to strut his stuff on the world stage of golf

All speculation till we hear from reporters at Fry's.

Thinking about AK always makes me, not mad, maybe a little bitter?  Like, if I had his skills, sure as hell I'd be out on tour making a (near?) hall of fame career for myself, recovering from my injuries, working through difficulties, etc.  I get the draw of the party life when suddenly you're rich at 22 or whatever, especially after what sounds like was a pretty strict upbringing.  But 29 seems a little old to still be sucked in by that.  Though I guess his maturity and sense of self are reflected in his choice of party mates, so maybe he'll still be at it at 50...

And on the insurance fraud thing, who knows if the reports and gossip are true, but regardless, with that much money on the line and the resources he has, you've gotta believe he's had some good lawyers vet the policy and explain to him exactly what his options are legally.  It doesn't seem totally out of the question to me that a pro golfer has a different disability insurance policy from the rest of us and that there's some legal room for judgement on his part about whether he'll be able to perform as a successful PGA golfer anymore.

Good for Anthony....I am happy for him that he is enjoying his life.

It seems you are insinuating that there is something wrong or immature with living that lifestyle at 29 or beyond.  Is that the case?

I'm also at a loss here. I've settled down because marriage + kid, but if that didn't happen and I had the means....I'd party every single night for the rest of my life. (golf on the side of course)

Crim, you have been on this site long enough to know and understand that the level of  "judgmentalism" that exists.....gotta just roll with the punches

And this is fine if you would like to do that.

It is also fine the @mdl has the opinion that that lifestyle is immature.

I guess I don't really get the "judgmental" part.

Hell, I'm 33, and if I were rich and single and unemployed, I'm sure I'd party a lot more than I do now (which is not at all anymore with a baby in the house).  I like good EDM and a fun dance night and a party and all that.  I just think it shows some immaturity or lack of personal development to have that be such a central part of your identity by the time you're pushing 30 that it gets in the way of the rest of your life (assuming that the reporting that implies that is correct, more or less).

Maybe he's the most centered, Zen, aware person in the world and has just decided that he doesn't love golf to the point where he wants it to be his life, feels lucky to have made a ton of money off of it already, and has moved on.  Just because you're capable of something doesn't mean you have to do it and all that.  From the reporting it just seems that's not the case, like he would like to come back and be successful but can't get it together to make it happen, which I think is sad.

I think all he's saying is that it's a waste. It's understandable that a 22-yo would party at the expense of applying his talent (see Johnny Football). 22 year olds are young and immature. If you're still doing it at 29, when you have the ability to be a consistent Ryder Cup player, it's sad.

I think you hit it on the head here.

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
