I allowed a rush of blood govern the purchase of the above driver. I did have a fitting with AG advising the club was suitable based on Launch Angle, Ball Speed and SS, Having got the club and taking it down to the range, and, my oh my, what a disaster. I could just not get the ball in the air and when I did seemed a bit wayward. I was on an 11.5 setting and maybe the answer is 12.5. I'll try that tomorrow.  I normally play with a Ping G20 with a Tour Shaft that's slightly stiffer than regular but not as stiff as the normal stiff option and was fitted by Ping. A very expensive mistake and maybe I should have stuck with the Ping.

That thing has a lot of adjustability options, no?  I would go through all of the combinations before giving up on it, I imagine you'll find something suitable.

What's the chance it's just a bad day? Especially when you consider the expectations of loving your new club and the crash of coming out of the clouds when the buyers remorse took hold. I'd sleep on it and try to start fresh the next time you try it and try not to let my head get in the way of things.

A couple of weeks ago I headed for the local par 3 to try out some Vokey's I scored, a great deal on CL for $25 a piece. I shanked a dozen or so and didn't hit anything near a green before walking off. Went back a few hours later, same thing, never made it past the first hole. A few days later I tried them out all was fine. Just something wrong with my mechanics that day and the more I tried to fix it the crazier things went. Could have been something as simple as being an inch too close to the ball but my head was so messed up I was a total spaz.

24 handicap? - no offense, but your swing is so inconsistent that I would not blame the driver, but the swing.

It's days like those that result in me quitting-golf-for-the-rest-of-my-life for the day.

*THREAD HIJACK!*

Hell, I remember one time I made a tee time at a course about 40 miles away that I had fond memories of.  I had been playing so good that I couldn't wait to go there and tear that course up.  I used golfnow and booked as a single, and had grand visions of whomever I got paired up with admiring my pinpoint approach shots and wondrous drives.  So I show up and pay for the time, go to the range to warm up, and promptly shanked about 15-20 warm-up wedges.  Pull out my 3 wood and kept hitting snap hooks.  Went back to the clubhouse, got a rain check and took my sorry a** home.  The whole ride back I was mumbling how stupid the game of golf is

I agree with Dave, sometimes you get a new club in your hands and you expect magic to happen.  You might be over swinging in an attempt to show more distance.  Whatever the case give it a few days and I'm sure you'll start to hit it like your other driver.

As Erik stated in another thread about equipment differences, don't expect too much from the new driver compared to your G20, it's not that big a jump.

I took our demo out for a round and I was not impressed with it at all. I might get bashed for this but I don't think much of Nike golf equipment. I owned a set of Pro Combos and I have hit every driver they have put out. Nothing has been as good as my Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, or Ping stuff, and their tour ball is a joke. That's just one person's opinion though.

I've tried just about every 2013 adjustable driver and IMO they were all pretty close in performance. The distance and dispersion was close enough that it came down to sound and price for me, some of them are downright obnoxious. The biggest differences I noticed was many tour models had shorter shafts and all were more consistent for me with that. I liked the Nike and it was runner-up but I went with the AMP Cell because I already have a bunch of Cobra stuff. It's in the shop being shortened and should be ready for action tomorrow. I have no doubt the Nike will be fine for the OP on a different day. As long as he's willing to give it a chance and doesn't play any Jedi mind tricks on himself.
