What made you think I was in the trades?

The fact that it appeared you would work in different places. Also, I am in the mechanical trades. We send guys all over, so I was probably just assuming.

So, please take this as just a statement of fact. It's a tiny bit better. Do a lot of this drill:  [CONTENTEMBED=/t/39667/driveway-sticks-and-shoulder-pitch layout=inline][/CONTENTEMBED] Change the picture. You're not gonna reliably change the picture at 100% speed.

So I've been doing this drill this morning in my living room. I have a wedding to go to so I won't be able to get to the range until probably Monday. What I was wondering was when I get to the range should I practice this hitting the ball with a full swing but half speed or less? Or should I practice on shorter swings? I wasn't sure if a shorter swing would even help since im not making a full turn.

I will let Erik or Mike answer that but I have a pretty good idea of how to do this on the range.  Just let me know if you want to meet up at Swing Time Monday after your shift?

Take Nate up on that offer @Jakester23 .

Then bum a ride off him to come here in August.

I would start with slower speed swings with an 8 or 9 iron. Then add in some full speed swings. Kind of like I'm doing here

I would love to but I don't think its in the budget this year. Why can't you just open another shop up in the Midwest? We have a lot of fried food and good beer.;-)

Then at least go practice with him. That was the main point of my post.

Went to the range with cipher today and he whooped me into shape working hard on key #1.   Here are a few videos from the session.

The shoulder turn is looking much better! How was the ball flight on your drives? Looked like could be little pull cuts?

Yeah pretty much pull cuts or just straight cuts. I was complaining about not being able to hit a push draw. But like I said to Cipher I gotta learn to crawl before I run. ;-)

Yeah, I hear what you're saying! You basically want to get the opposite of the results you are getting now! So you have to change your swing path 180 degrees! It will take time, but it looks like you got some great instruction on how to practice!

I concur.  I just have to work on Key 1,2,&3 for now then Ill get into shot shaping.  Im hopefully going to be golfing twice this weekend (which is rare for me) and we will see how it goes.  My solid shots were very solid.  I feel like I can see the ball better also.

It was great hitting the range with you Jakester.  Just to kind of note the feels for you.  As that right hip deepens and the left shoulder gets down in the backswing I know you can feel that right side stretching out.  These are full swings we filmed so that you have some decent high speed video for your thread, but keep working on those slow partial swings.   Practice that drill Erik showed you a bunch.  You may need to feel like you are taking half length back-swings as well to keep from over-swinging right now.  You have plenty of power, don't worry about it.  There are some downswing pieces that are also attributing to the OTT pulls but that is for another time.   Getting this will start to help some of that.

I agree and thanks again. Im going to be working on this for the foreseeable future. This is why I love the 5 keys system they all build upon each other. I will defiantly be practicing this feel at home and when I go to the range later this week(hopefully).
