I'm not a fan....and since I don't like people who make very short forum posts I'll ramble on for a bit to make it look like I have more to say on this issue but really what else is there to say. Either you like them or you don't so.....yea, you just wasted 20 seconds reading this!!!

Would have liked a third option, "don't care", but given that wasn't an option I went "yay".  I don't really care what someone wears as long as it conforms to the rules of the club.

Somehow, Hunter manages to accentuate the ughness factor by quite a bit. Must be the shape of his head, he looks like a bucket.

Not a fan of the flat bill.  To me, unless you are a skater punk or do freestyle motocross; you shouldnt be trying to rock the flat bill.

Flat brim hats come from baseball, they keep the sun out of your eyes while not obscuring your vision. Perfect for golf, if you can pull off the look.

No the flat brim hats is a So Cal thing. Ricky Fowler is responsible for the "Cali" look.

Jesse James was one of the first to have those flat brim hats.

Oh and I can't stand them, they look stupid as hell. Even Jesse James, who thinks he's the coolest dude ever. Which we all know, anyone who cheats on Sandra Bullock must be a dumbass.

^^^ What he said. Doesn't matter to me what people want to wear golfing as long as its appropriate attire for a club. I think the worst dressed golfer I've ever seen is a guy wearing a wifebeater and cargo shorts that were 4 sizes too big.

Was a time you had to bend it to your preferred shape with your own hands. My grandfather was a trucker, all his caps were flat. Wore one right up to the day he died at 91. I remember my dad helping me bend the brims on my little league hats back in the 70's. Definitely not a new thing, more of a retro look than anything. No doubt a doofus like Beiber doesn't understand this but it is what it is. I like it a little in between, typically straighten it out a bit or I feel like I am wearing blinders.

Who cares? Not a big deal to me either way...........I own a flat brim cap but I ended up bending the bril to fit my dome. Like the poster above stated, took me back to little league days. But to each his own, it's your money if you wanna rock the flat brim, be my guest.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
