Anything to distract you from his Furyk-like golf swing. I didn't mind the logo-less Ryan Moore of then instead of the now.

Hey man, the tie says I'm here for business...

And the crappy green shirt says I just rolled out of bed after an all-night bender.

Boner points for saying smedium.

On another note... I think Mutual of Omaha needs to sign on a Graphic Designer?  W.T.F is that logo?

Ha

I was wandering off looking for my stray ball and asked some chick if she'd seen it. She smiled, said no, then ran off to her friends chuckling, saying "Oh my God he looks like Rickie Fowler!"

lol

Are you sure she wasn't just laughing at you?

Would have liked a third option, "don't care", but given that wasn't an option I went "yay".  I don't really care what someone wears as long as it conforms to the rules of the club.

Same goes for me. If the cap suits the player and that is part of their unique style that they like, then I see no problem with it.

This must've led to a woods orgy filled with a fresh foursome of 18 year old girls lined up with their skirts turned up begging to get your flat billed action in before they teed off.

Because that's what happens when rap stars wear flat billed hats to the club.

So I bought a new hat on ebay. Cool UA Heat Gear fitted hat from the Purgatory Golf Club, has a golf ball teed up on a trident with a halo over it and says Purgatory GC on the back. I mention it only because after shipping it's flat. Not just the bill the entire hat. The moron that sold it shipped it to me in a manila envelope.

Don't worry.  Just put the country boy roll on the bill, put a rubber band around it for a couple of days and it will look just fine.

I dress accordingly to club rules and don't give a hoot what anyone else wears as long as its conforming to rules. If I saw someone wearing a ridiculous outfit I wouldn't say a word. Why? Because its none of my business. If the club doesn't like it they can. The only thing I can't stand about the game of golf is the snotty old pricks that tan too much and feel the need to share their opinion on everything that isn't their business, including how others are dressed. Play your own game and let the management handle the players on the course.

I mostly agree with you, saturday, but I kinda giggled at the "snotty old pricks that tan too much" bit.  Most of the snotty old pricks I know don't tan at all.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
