From the franchise that bought us: "I'll be back." And "Come with me if you want to live." Why does Arnie have gray hair? He's the Terminator!

You may have found out but he has grey hair because his skin can still age. Mostly to help the fact that Arnold is 20 years older than he was in T2. They are retconning the franchise, so Arnie went back to save Sarah Connor when she was a kid and ended up raising her.

Saw Exodus: Gods and Kings last night, I give it a bogey. Some of the action and landscape scenes were good but I thought the characters were kind of dull and the supporting cast wasn't used effectively. Also felt it was trying too hard to be "epic" without having enough character development/motivation scenes to back it up.

It's a little science fiction-y. I'm not spoiling the plot by saying they encounter their doubles and it's fun watching them deal with it. Ted Danson has a funny part in it.

We watched a good movie on Amazon Prime the other day called Nebraska.

Stars Bruce Dern and Wil Forte.

It started a little slow but just builded to let you really see the characters as it went along.

Definitely a good one.

The One I Love gets a birdie from me. I enjoy movies that are a little mind bendy and you have no idea how things will end. Very Charlie Kaufman-esque.

Sounds awesome. I LOVE sci-fi-ish stuff that isn't all out sci-fi. Y'all seen Safety Not Guaranteed? Edit- I just checked and it's by the same guy, Mark Duplass

Ida (EEEda) - OK, this is totally different than what I usually recommend here, it's a foreign film, subtitled, B&W;, slow paced, nothing gets blown up, no science fiction, but I was totally entranced by this movie. It's about an orphan raised in a convent who's about to take her vows, learns some life changing things about herself and her family, deals with it. A look into post WWII Europe, religion and communism. Tap in birdie. It's on Netflix.

Also, I'd suggest *NOT* watching the trailer, go in cold. This is probably going to be an Oscar nominee.

Watched First Blood this morning. Hadn't seen it in ages. I liked it. The final showdown has one of Stallones' better dialogue scenes. Easy par.

Fury- eagle. Pitt delivers. Like Redford as he has aged he looks more rugged and is believable in this role. The tightness and bond of a small unit warts and all is portrayed well.

Those tracers of the shells fired from the tanks and bullets from the machine guns during the tank battle were epic. Really gives you a feel of what it was like to be there, if that was an accurate depiction. It was almost like laser beams.

That scene in the room with the two German women. Tense.

Watched Good Will Hunting again last night.

Still rates as a birdie.

I might have liked to have a little more depth to the relationship between Lambeau and Maguire. Did Maguire give up math to go into psychology?

    • Yes, correct. Trail hand wrist in flexion at address. And grip up in palm.  I mean he is hitting duck hooks. You can hit them with any path with trail palm turned under the grip. I wouldn't eliminate that as a possibility sight unseen.  Extreme outward path highly unlikely for a high handicapper. $5 says trail palm cradling the grip from way under.
    • @ChetlovesMer, I think @GolfLug is talking about almost having the right or left hand under the club. Like extreme strong grip. I would say DJ has one of the stronger grips. The V in his right-hand points towards his right shoulder. Like up his right arm.  I can see two ways to hit a duck hook. In my mind, a duck hook is caused by an extreme in to out swing path. I do not think grip strength is highly correlated with swing path.  DJ has a very strong grip from a PGA Tour perspective, and he hit fades off the tee. Morikawa has a strange weak left hand, but strong right hand and hits fades. Rory has more of a neutral grip and hits draws.  Yep, this ^
    • That'd great. I love indoor practice in the winter. In all seriousness. don't be afraid to go out and get lessons. It can take a while to find a swing coach that's right for you. I've had a myriad of them, some good, some not so good. One that I'm actually friends with, but he wasn't right for me as a coach. I work with @iacas these days, and he really helps me... I call him Yoda. I'm sure I improve more because of his lessons than I ever would on my own. Finding a good coach can be like finding the right spouse. ... possibly more difficult depending on where you live.  Secondly, don't be embarrassed to post a MySwing thread. A lot of golfers are like "eh, I don't want everyone to see how crappy my swing is." Don't be that golfer. Be the golfer who says "My swing needs work. Here's where I am at the moment."  Anyway, that's my 2 cents.  Enjoy the indoor facility, but time the snow melts away in the spring, you'll be ready to go.
    • Thanks for all the thoughts and tips.  I truly appreciate it.   I’m going to work on it this winter at an indoor golf facility.
    • Dustin Johnson?  I think Freddy Couples was known for a really strong grip. Bryson plays a strong grip. I know Zach Johnson does too.  There are probably others.  I'm no Alfred Einstein but I'm pretty sure it's all about match ups. If you do X you need to do Y. ...etc... Jordan Spieth and Colin Morikawa have swings which match their quote-unquote weak grips, where Dustin Johnson has a swing that matches his quote-unquote strong grip.  Once again, for the OP, @Brickman I probably sound like a broken record, but you should post video of your swing, especially video of the ones that duck hook. It's hard to diagnose exactly what's going on without seeing it.
