Today I found a waterproof jacket I love: Having decided I like it I asked the price and the sales person told me it would make a great gift for my wife (so clearly it's a ladies jacket) So now I face a decision; buy it anyway because I like it and hope nobody knows it's a ladies jacket or buy a bland plain black "men's" version. Would you or do you wear any female golf clothes which could pass for men's?

I dunno. It looks pretty gender neutral. If it fits, and doesn't say "Ladies" or something on it, I say why not?

Or, just ask for the male version of that jacket in those materials, etc.

The closest they had was plain black in "mens" or a purple and black one.

I did ask in what world black and white is more feminine than black and purple. ;)

If you like it and are comfortable wearing it, who cares.

I just suggest that you do not enter a handbag toss competition while wearing it.

Ask to get matching lipstick too... :-P

That's a pretty sick jacket. The only feminine thing about it is the "Collection" hand writing...

The men's version is better IMO

I definitely do not have the figure for that. 6'2" 245... that would probably shred in the middle of my swing.

Anyway, I guess who cares? I mean, unless you're wearing some blatant women's gear, or if that jacket is form-fitting. I'm not too into the Poulter style of clothing where polos have no "folds" or "crinkles" in them. In my opinion, if your shirt can't even blow in the wind, it's too damn tight. That's just me though...

I don't think I've worn a shirt that blows in the wind in years. I'll pass on oversized duds...

Seems like a bunch of the guys from the UK like wearing tighter fitting cloths, at least from what I see on youtube. I prefer a looser fit, but not baggy.

I don't mean oversized as in MC Hammer... I just mean "relaxed" fit. I can't be comfortable in baby gap clothes that belong on Justin Beiber is what I'm saying.

Not even if they offered to pay me to do so...    Women's clothes are typically cut much differently than mens (allowing for boobs and different body shape , etc), so even if there is nothing written on the clothing to indicate it was intended for a woman, the way it most likely will fit is going to give it away.     In this case, based on what I can tell, the nifty little script on the pocket and the cut of it (especially the horizontal seam at chest level) screams this is a women's jacket to me.

But hey, in this politically correct society we are saddled with today, it would be considered inappropriate to make fun of a transvestite, so do whatever you think best.......

lol That's worded pretty rough.. I wouldn't have gone that far. I agree though, that no - I would personally, absolutely not wear clothing intended for women. It's not a "man" thing either. Just look at the white outline of that jacket. It's supposed to accentuate a woman's figure in the chest, waist and hips. The red jacket that @BENtSwing32 linked is the way to go.
